Mrs, Stanley Marshall, London,...endon The bride chose an original floor-length gown of pure white Pean de Snie, The fitted Clinton Girl Wed At Home Pink . and, white streamers and wedding bells decorated the home of Mr. and Mrs. William Merner Clan Stage Reunion The Merrier reunion was held at Cedar Grove, Zurich, on July 21, with a good attendance. Persons from Detroit, Lon- don, Cincinnati, Exeter, Dash- wood, Neilsen, Zurich, Mitchell, Windsor were present. The sports were directed ,by Mr. and Mrs. Bob Reschke, De- troit, and they were favorably enjoyed. Some of the highlights of the afternoon were as follows; Sewing the neatest button- hole, Mrs. Wes Merrier, Zurich; oldest person, Mrs. George Mer- ner, Dashwood, youngest baby, Janice Townsend, Mitchell; fat- est man, Milford Merner, Dash- wood; person who came the farthest distance, Sally Hoft, Cincinnati; guessing number of beans in jar, Sally Hoft, Cincin- nati; hammering liens in wood, Leonard Mettler, Zurich. _Also, a gift was presented to Mr. and Mrs. Wes Merrier who recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. After the sports everybody sat down to a lovely supper. FolloWing the supper' was the election of officers for 1964. They are: president, Ray Brock; vice-president, Hubert Schilbe; secretary - treasurer, Mrs. Byron Kyle;; sports corn- Mittee, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Res- Chke; lunch eommittee, Mr. and Mrs. Milford Merner. Over 70 people came from Lethbridge, Alberta; Detroit, Dresden, London and surround- ing centres to attend the 40th Tebbutt falnily reunion at Har- bour Park, Goderich. The register was in charge of Mr. and Mrs. Carman Teb- butt. The sports committee con- ducted a number of races and, special contests and the win- ners were as follows: Girls 6 and under, Sharon Colclough, Brenda Forbes; girls 7 to 9, Helen Pickard; boys 7 to 9, Kevin Hulley; girls 10 to 12, Lois Merrill, Janice Trewar- tha; boys 10 to 12, Larry Boak, Ivan Merrill; teenage girls, Faye Merrill, Patty Tebbutt; teenage boys, Rick Boak, Larry Beak. Ladies kick-the-slipper, Nor- ene Tebbutt; men, Jack Mer- rill; ladies running race, Mari- anne Colclough; men, Murray Forbes; honeymoon relay, Mar- lene Forbes' team; bean race, Murray Forbes' team; heaviest man present, Gordon Dow; old- est person, William Potter; couple married nearest 25 years, Mr. and Mrs, • Robert Taylor; youngest child, Sylvia Forbes; latest married couple, Mr. and Mrs. Murray Forbes. Following the picnic supper, the president, Lloyd Bond, wel- comed those present and greet- ings were received from Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Sheppard, Lyn- den, Washington. Mr. Lorne Jervis moved a vote of thanks to the president and his committee and the sec- Baskets of summer flowers adorned the Clinton Christian Reformed Church on Friday, July 19 for the marriage of JOanne Greidanus to Jack Koes- tier. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs, Jacob Koestier, RR 3, Clinton, and the bride is the daughter of Mrs. John Greidan- us and the late Mr. Greidanus, Clinton. Rev. L. Slofstra officiated at the ceremony and traditional wedding music was played by the organist, Mr. J. Roorda, Clinton. Given in marriage by her brother, John, the bride wore a floor, length goWn of white rotary and treasurer reports were read. An election of officers was held and the following named for 1964: Honorary president, John Curry; past . president, Lloyd. Bond; president, Jack Merrill; vice-president, Russell Jervis; secretary, Mrs. John Watson.; assistant secretary, Mrs. Jack Tebbutt; treasurer, Mrs. Robert Taylor; register, Mr. and Mrs. Will Tebbutt; assistants, Mr. and Mrs. Carman Tebbutt. Her elbow length veil of silk illusion was held by a crown of seed pearls and she carried a bouquet of white carnations and red roses, She was attended by Miss Wilma Greidanus, Clinton, who wore a pale mauve dress of nylon organza with tiny mat- ching pillbox headdress with veil. She carried white carna- tions and yellow roses. Andy Verhuist, ER 1, Bay- field, was groomsman and the guests from as' far away as Hamilton, Tavistock, Strathroy and New Jersey were ushered by, John and Keith Koestier, RR 3, Clinton. A reception was held in the church auditorium following the ceremony and the young couple left for a honeymoon trip to the St. Lawrence Seaway. Later, the bride and groom left on a honeymoon trip to the Southern States. For travelling the bride changed to a white summer suit with red and white accessories, She wore a red carnation cor- sage, On their return they will re- side in London. The groom is a member of the office staff of Lawson and Jones, and the bride is with the London Life Insurance Company.
