ceived Holy Communion for the
first time. They were first in-
vested in the order of the Scap-
ular of Our Lady of Mount
Carmel.
The children were under the
care of Mrs. Kay Wicicware,
Miss A. Mulrooney and the
Sisters of St. Joseph from Sea-
forth. During the Mass, vocal
selections were rendered by
Miss La Rue.
Homemakers Bowling
In the account which appear-
ed last Thursday, one- name
was omitted: Mrs. E. Robert-
son's name should have appear-
ed with the Meteors.
All bowlers of the league
who plan to attend the dinner
on May 21 are asked to be at
the Clinton town Post Office

George Cutler
Joins Goderich Firm
George Cutler, recently re-
cently retired from the RCAF
at Clinton, in the capacity of
Sergeant in charge of motor
transport repairs, has joined
the sales staff of Goderich Mo-
tors Ltd., Ford dealer.
Mr. Cutler and his family
will continue to live at 150
James Street here in Clinton.

In the absence of the presi-
dent, Mrs. W. Watkins, the
vice-president, Mrs. R. Burke
conducted the regular monthly
meeting of the Ladies Auxiliary
to the Royal Canadian Legion
Branch 140, held in the Legion
Hall on Monday, May 13.
Mrs. Mary McCann, Zone
Commander, Fordwich, and
two friends were guests of the
evening.
On display were the bowling
trophies won by the regular
and the novice teams in a very
successful competition at the
Seaforth bowling tournament
held Wednesday, May 8.
In her speech, Mrs. McCann
congratulated the auxiliary on
their bowling successes, on the
way in which members partici-
pated in their own meetings
and on remembering the veter-
ans.
Special mention was made of
the faithful vi,sits and service
of the visiting and flower com-
mittee of Mrs. T. Leppington
and Mrs. R. Butler Mrs. Mc-
Cann told members that the
Legion is the largest organiza-
tion in Ontario, with 401 aux-
iliaries and 13 new groups in
the past year. Thirty-one pro-
vincial scholarships of $400 and
four of $100 were awarded last
year and $27,342 was raised in
Zone C1.
Aim high was her advice and
give the needy the assistance
they require.
Mrs. Doug Andrews, ,second
vice-president, thanked the zone
commander and showed appre-
ciation of the visit with a small
gift.
This year the Zone Rally will
be held in Goderich Legion Hall
on May 22 at 8:00 p,m.
Mrs. W. Harris won the mys-
tery prize and on motion, the
monthly draw will be raised to
$15 for the June, meeting when
names will be drawn until

Sgt. and Mrs, Ray Barnes held
an Out-door barbectie in hopor
of Sgt., and Mrs. Norman Ore-
entree and Cpl. and 1VIrs, Jack
McCoy.
Friends and neighbors of the
apartment "D" block gave the
two couples gifts of lawn ch-
airs.
Mr. and Mrs. McCoy are go-
ing to Winnipeg and Sgt. and
Mrs. Greentree are• going to
Fontainebleau, France, Sgt.
and Mrs. "Digger" Doolcs from
Centralia attended the party.

The Women's. Auxiliary will
be holding a "Hawaiian" Tea
and Bake Sale on May 25, from
two to four p.m, at the Ritchie
Building. Everyone is wel-
come to this event which will
feature pineapple, leis, shells,
mu-mus, music from the South
seas, etc, etc.
At the May 6 meeting of the
Girl Guides, the two Guide
leaders as well as four Brown-
ie leaders, several young Brow-
nies and the Guides witnessed
