given by the treasurer, Mrs.
Putot, A splendid Dorcas bale'
was on exhibit. Mrs. Fred Mid-
dleton -moved a vote of ap-
preciation to the convener,
Mrs. Arnold Miller and to her
committee for their efforts.
Mr. Harrison anonunced that
the spring session of the
Deanery of Huron would be
held in St. George's Church,
Goderich, on Tuesday, May 21,
Mr. Harrison also remarked
that he was entering on the
seventh year of his ministry in
this parish, During this time
he has been a regular attend-
er at the WA meetings and
always a pillar of strength to
a succession of presidents. It

Plan Sthool
During Vacation
AUBURN — Plans were out-
lined to hold a daily vacation
Bible school in Auburn this
summer at a meeting held in
Knox Unitecl Church. Repres-
entatives of the Baptist, Ang-
lican, Knox Presbyterian and
Knox United churches were all
present and Rev, Robert Meally
presided for the meeting.
Mr. Meally .spoke on the pur-
pose of the school held every
summer in the village since it
was started in 1937. It was
decided to hold the school this
summer starting op July 8 for
six days, Opening devotions
will bp held in St. Mark's An-
glican Church and the Sunday
school rooms of the other chur-
ches will be used for the class-
es.
The financial .statement was
read stating that there was a
bank balance of $56.16 from
last year's school, Mrs. Robert
Arthur was named treasurer
arid Mrs. Wes Bradnock, sec-
retary.
A missionary project will be
taken again this year and Rev.
Charles Lewis will write for
samples of material to assist
the . leaders. '
Leaders chosen were pre-
school, Mrs. Wilfred Sander-
son; primary, left for a com-
mittee of Mrs. Maurice Bean
and Mrs, Lawrence Plaetzer to
fill; junior, Mrs.' Lloyd Hum-
phreys; seniors, Mr, Craig Pet-
ers and Mrs. Lloyd Walden.
Further plans. will be made
at a later meeting when sam-
ples of the school supplies
come. •

service will be held in the Unit-
ed Church next Sunday at
1045 a,m, with the pastor,
Rev. Murdoch Morrison in
charge.
On Sunday last the Sacra-
ment of the Lord's Supper was
administered in the United
Church with Rev. Mr, Pease,
Bayfield, in charge. Also a
baptismal service when Sherry
Lynn, daughter of Mr, and Mrs,
Wayne Taylor, was baptized.
YPIT Meets
The regular Varna Young
Peoples meeting was attended
by 18 members. Margaret Ald-
ington had the worship. The
roll call is to be answered next
week by a verse containing
"salvation",
Gary Dowson, Nancy Must-
ard, Sharon Dowson and Mary
Stephenson are on the recrea-
tion committee for May,
It was decided that the
meetings would halt for the
summer at the end of May and
the group is closing with a
weiner roast on Saturday, May
25.

study, Her topic was "What
is Jesus to You?" Nancy Must-
ard followed with prayer and
closed with taps,

AUBURN — Bouquets of
yellow daffodils and blue hy-
acinths decorated the tables
for the annual Sunshine Sis-
ter banquet of the Auburn
Women's Institute held in the
Auburn Community Memorial
Hall. The head table was
centred with a large bouquet
of the same flowers and flank-
ed by tall tapers.
The evening program was
opened by the singing of the
Institute Grace followed by the
National Anthem with Mrs.
Robert J. Phillips as the pi-
anist throughout the evening.
The president, Mrs. Ed. Dav-
ies, welcomed the 60 members
and friends and husbands who
were present for this occasion.
She read a short poem on
thoughts for the season.
A toast to the Institute was
proposed by Mrs. Gordon R.
Taylor and it was responded
to by singing the Ode. A
reading, "Casey At The Bat",
was given by Mrs. Donald Sp-
rung, A duet was sung by
Mrs. Gordon Chamney a n d
Mrs. Donald Haines,

onview. He gave an illustrat-
ive talk on a recent trip to
Trinidad • and Bermuda, Going
by air, Mr. and Mrs. Johns-
ton visited many places of in-
terest on these islands a n d
showed pictures of them from
the time they left Clinton un-
til they returned,
Mrs. John Hallam thanked
Mr. Johnston and presented
him with a gift.
Each Sunshine Sister answ-
ered the roll call by revealing
the name 'of her secret sister
whom she had remembered
with cards during the year and
presented her with a gift .

The executive of Grace
Church Sunday School met on
Tuesday evening last at the
home of Mrs. Mary Manning.
Rev. A. G. Pease opened the
meeting with prayer.
A short story was read by
Mrs. William Cox.
It was decided to have com-
bined services on both Moth-
er's Day, May 12 and Father's
Day, June 16.
Sunday, June 9 was the date
set for the Sunday school an-
niversary with special music by
the school pupils.
Plans were made for the
picnic to be held in Harbour
Park, Goderich, in July.
The meeting closed with the
Mizpah benediction and lunch
was served.

a.m. This will be a Mother's
Day service with a mothers'
choir.

est to that date was Mrs. Gor-
don Charnney. Mrs. Donald Sp-
rung gave two readings, "The
Boil" and "Blowing out the
Candle".
Sunshine Sister names were
drawn and Mrs. Thomas Hag-
gitt was in charge of this part
of the program.
