Girls 'from grades sib, seven and eight displayed their skill in tumbling by a demonstration of forward and .backward rolls with variations of each type. Five pyramids concluded their display. The "squash" is en- joyed by most of the girls, Taking part were Karen patin-i, Francine Paquette, Judy Lesnick, Shari Sabourin, Judy Bush, Carol Marcell, Jane lie- bert v Donna Rees, Marilyn Ar- senault, Patti Doll, Gerry Ann Christian and Louise Betts, The boys from grades six, seven and eight displayed their skill in tumbling by giving a demonstration of stunts .on the side. horse. Following this the boys did some of the basic stunts with variations to show the different degrees of diffi- culty that may be used. The lads then gave a ,demon- stration of balances which were used to form pyramids made up of one to thirteen persons. The boys concluded with a 13 man pyramid composed of Richard Dolan, Walter Mon. row, Bill MacKay, Stephen Pierce, Bruce Bingham, Tom Koch, Melvin Rohner, Greg Buhs, Peter Bingham, Donald Farrell, David Betts, Paul Dol- an and Bryan Ludwig. The teachers looking after these young people were: Mrs. Groves and Mr. Scotchrner, Present also were Mr, Trott, principal and Mr. Harland. The Clinton Baptist Church Couple's Club held their mon- thly meeting in the church on Saturday, May 4. The meeting opened with , de- votions and singing of hymns after which Pastor Peters in- troduced the guest speaker, Dr. Vincent and Mr. Russ Lott, Guelph. Dr. Vincent is a missionary psychiatrist as well as a doc- tor' of medicine. He' practises in the Guelph Homewood Sani- torium. His topic for the even- ing was 'Christian life and family problems. IVIr. Lott as well spoke on the. raising of children. Dr. Vincent and Mr. Lott held an open panel for discussion, an- swering various questions. Mr. and Mrs. Lott sang some lovely duets. The business part of the meeting concluded by the mak- ing of plans for a bus trip to Hamilton to tour McMaster University, the Steel Plant and the rock gardens on May 25. The Goderich young couples Display Abilities On. May 2, the children from grades four to eight put on a display of physical prowess at Air Marshall Hugh Campbell school, Grades four and five were responsible for stunts. These stunts were performed by, Ger- ald Greentree, Mark Paul, Margo Adams, Judy Reekie, Nicky Haspeck and Gene Dickau. Mrs, S. C, Chuter A faithful organist for many yearS at St. John's Anglican Church, Varna,. Mrs. Susannah Catherine Adeline C h u t e r, Varna, passed away in Clinton Public Hospital on Monday, April 29, 1963. She was in her 86th year. Born in Goderich Township, she was the daughter of the late Gabriel and Elizabeth El- liott. Her husband, Edwin George Chuter, predeceased her in 1955. She is survived by four sons, Wilfred, Varna; Tom, Clinton; Elliott, London and Harvey, Owen Sound; five daughters; Mrs, Norm an (Irene) Walper, Exeter; Mrs. Fred (Mary) Carter, London; Mrs. Walter (Margaret) Mc- Bride, Exeter; Mrs. Elmore (Ida) MO3ride, Exeter; Mrs, William (Bessie) Townshend, Goderich Township; one sister, Mrs. Maud Reid, London; 25 grandchildren and 19 great- grandchildren. Another daughter, Doris, passed away in 1958. The funeral service was con- ducted on Thursday from the Ball and Mutch funeral home with -the Rev. E. J. B. Harrison, Bayfield, officiating. Pallbearers included sons-in- laws of the deceased: Fred Carter, 'Norman Walper, El- more , McBride, Walter Mc- Bride, Joe Pongracz and Wil- liam Townshend.. The following grandsons were flower-bearers: Wayne Chuter, Eric Chuter, Gerald McBride, Douglas McBride, Wayne Tur- key and Charlie Atthill. Top team in the league was Beattie's , Bombers, shown here with their by Ken Harris, which ended the regular schedule in bottom place, ha dthe highest team at- tendance record for the season, bowling in 534 games out of a total o f558. The smorgasbord banquet was held in the IOOF hall, Princess Street, and prepared by the Rebekah lodge. 'Top Bowlers hi 100F League Honored spoils. Beattie's Bombers, captained' by David Beattie, won the three-game roun drobin playoff series in which all eigh tteams competed. He was presented with the Hotel Clinton trophy. Members of the champion- ship team, besides Beattie, were Mrs. Russel] Byer, Mrs. Jack Holmes, Dan Gliddon, Frank Yeo and Glen Wise. Beattie's team had finished fifth in the regular 28-game schedule. Arnold Riley's Rock- ets took second spot in the playoffs after finishing the regular schedule in top place. Playoff Standing Pts. Hayter and Frank McCullough. Harris's Hornets, captained attended the meeting as well as some from Guelph Baptist Church and several from neigh- boring churches. The evening concluded by the ladies of the church serving a delicious lunch.
