Guelph Cadets
Win Competition
At RCAF Clinton
Royal Canadian Air Cadet
Squadron No. 121 from Guelph
won the Annual Air Cadet Sp-
orts Day at RCAF Station Cl-
inton on April 7,
Five Air Cadet Squadrons
competed in the yearly contest:
No, 19 Squadron from Strat-
ford (28 points), No, 80, Kit-
chener-Waterloo Squadron (41
points), No. 296 Galt Squadron
.(40 points), the winner, No. 121
Guelph Squadron (67 points),
and the runner-up No. 616 Br-
antford Squadron (49 points).
A point scoring system was
used to determine the winning
squadron in the five events:
basketball, volleyball, bowling,
rifle competition, and the drill
competition,
Trophies for the various ev-
ents were presented' to the win-
ning squadron team captains by
Mr. J. B. Smith, Toronto, man-
ager of the Provincial Commit-
tee of the Royal Canadian Air
Cadets; Mr. Irving Erb, Kitch-
ener, vice-chairman of the Pr-
ovincial Committee and Group
Captain J. G. Mathieson, MBE,
CD, CO of Station Clinton.
G/C Mathieson presented the
high aggregate trophy to Flight
Lieutenant P. A. Robinson, the
CO of 121 Guelph Squadron.

County Farmers'Union on Thur-
sday night, He succeeds Ray
Hanna.

the pastor, Rev. Murdoch Mor-

people's service will be held in
Goshen United Church.

The UCW of the United Ch-
urch are sponsoring a three act
play "Ready Made Family", put
on by the Thedford young peo-
ple in the township hall on
Wednesday, April 17.
Mr. Alfred Johnston is a pa-
tient in the Clinton Public Hos-
pital.
YPU Meets
The regular Varna YPU
meeting was held in the chruch
with 20 members present. Shir-
ley Mustard had the worship
and Carol Hill had the Bible
study, "I Believe". The meet-
ing next week is cancelled and
at the next meeting the roll
call is to be answered by a
verse containing "witness". The
Young People's paper drive will
be held on April 20 beginning
at 10:00 a'clock.
Carol Hill closed the meet-
ing with prayer.
