(Sure hope this "think positive" Idea works*) AND JUST TO CARRY this "think positive" bit a little fur- ther, area residents who have been bitten by the flu bug can take consolation in the fact it plays no favorites, and they were on the same list as Prin- cess Margaret who was confin- ed to her room in Kensington palace with a- mild attack this week . . That little fact in itself should prove even better medicine that a good dose of castor oil ,even though there is some doubt in our mind that the patients in this area Will receive the same treatment as Princess Margaret. But then, gold bed pans are rather chilly things anyway . . . Speaking of that noted family, we spotted an article the other day that stated Tony jotie14 (The Earl. of Snowdon to most people) bad been offered a salary of $135,009 a year to switch jobs onto an- other newspaper as adviser on the photographic side of the paper . . . We'll bet many of our readers never realized we newspaper people received that kind of cash. Well, to tell you the truth we never either, but we fully intend to sit down and have a real good talk to the boss about it. * * BUDDING oratorical expon- ents, attempting to find new ideas by which to hold their audiences' attention, may be well advised to consider the method employed by a Toronto speaker recently, He passed out 12 "girlie" magazines to il- lustrate his address on obscene literature. Unfortunately though two or three of the books were not handed back in after his talk, despite his• pleas to the audience . . By the way, the audience was 34 officials of the board of evangelism and social services of the United Church of Canada. 3 ROOM FURNISHED apart- ment, central location, suitable for couple; frig. and stove. Due to weather conditions, only six of the 16 men were I present, but Miles reported that 13 of them had previously in- dicated a willingness to act on the association. Most of the names had been proposed by a committee of the old Beef Producers' Association and another committee of Carl Hemingway, Harold Montgom- ery and George Carter were named at the meeting to bring in the slate. Further nominations were al- so asked from thb floor. Miles reported the committee had tried to get a cross section of producers to act on the as- sociation, noting men were re- presented from the cow-calf end of the industry, the steer producers, the marketing men and also young and old pro- ducers. "We have tried to get all phases of the industry on the directorship," he explained. He said the committee were not scheming in any way by naming the committee, but had suggested the names as a "starting point". He pointed out any nomina- tions could be made from the floor. Named as directors, and their townships, are: Winston Shapton, Stephen; Harry Dougall, Usborne; Bob McGregor, Tuckersmith; Hugh Hendrick, Stanley; Elmer Rob- ertson, Colborne; Wallace Wil- son, West Wawanosh; Jack Bryans, Morris; Bob Campbell, McKillop; Jack Willetts, Turn- berry., J a c l< Armstrong, Hullett; Herb Klopp, Hay; Robert Thompson, Goderich; Norman Coultes, East Wawanosh; Ross Knight, Grey; William Connell, Howick and Ivan Rivett, Ash- field, your authorized Simplicity Dealer At CHUTER 2 FURNISHED apartments, one on ground floor, other on second floor.
