Biggest Job
For Kernohan Doug Fleischauer, who as-
SjStR his parents in the man-
agement of the Elm Haven,
reported the modern motor
Hotel, intends to present
weekend entertainment as
well as a weekly dance when
oPerations are Underway,
The Elm Haven has a
large stage along the south
wall that can be used for
entertainment purposes and
patrons in both the Timber-
lane Room and the dining
lounge will have full view
of it, Both are licensed un-
der the Liquor Control Board
of Ontario.
The dancing will be con-
ducted in the large basement
room which is not licensed
and has a seating capacity
for over 200 patrons.
Private parties, wedding
receptions and other similar
events will be Staged here,
while a smaller room that
seats 50 can be use d for
smaller functions.
There is also a small snack
bar which will be used prim-'
arily for breakfasts and light
lunches, Similar to the din-
ing room it is adjoining the
kitchen.
Although entrance to the
Timberlane Room and the
dining lounge may be made
through the front doors,
Doug explained that the. (Continued from page Nine)
basically remained at a stand-
still in 'the past 25 years, while
industry has made giant gains,
"Unfortunately they could-
IA find anything to better our
lot at the present time," he
stated.
When it was learned the
county farmer had paid his
own expenses to the course, the
members , voted to recognize
him as their official delegate
and voted to pay his expenses.
However, he asked that the
money be left with the Federa-
tion.
He urged that more memb-
ers attend such courses, not-
ing the cost was low and a
person gained a, great deal from
it,
Reply to Mr. Coultes
After learning that Charles
Coultes, Belgrave, secretary of
the Huron Free Enterprise
Agriculture Producers, Ii a d
crticised the Federation for
cutting some of the material
from a letter he had written
for use in their annual survey,
president Elmer Ireland report-
ed he had taken it upon him-
self to delete the "propaganda".
He also reported Mr. Coultes
had written him a letter ques-
tioning the reason for the action
but it had not been answered.
He said he would if the
members wished, and it was
decided that a letter should
be written pointing out that
the publication was produced
by the Federation and as such
they had control over the mat-
erial used.
"It would be an act of cour-
tesy to explain it to bim," one
member stated.
Earlier in the meeting, Mrs.
John Elliott, secretary of the
Federation, asked the memb-
ers what she should do in re-
gards to the Clinton News-
Record not publishing her
weekly news letter.
News-Record reporter, Bill
Batten, explained that room
did not always permit publica-
tion and the report did not
always deal directly with Hur-
on Federation information.
He pointed out the paper
would be willing to assist Mrs,
Elliott in producing a news-
worthy report and a public
relations committee of Mrs.
Elliott, Elmer Ireland and
Alec McGregor was named to
assist in producing the reports
for the Huron weeklies,
To Equip Kitchen
The members held a lengthy
discussion on the idea present-
ed by Alec McGregor, RR 2,
Kippen, to furnish the small
kitchen at the new Agricul-
ture office for refreshments
following various meetings.
Other members suggested
various groups in the county.
would probably be willing to
donate to the east and suggest-
ed a committee be named to
investigate what was needed
and the cost entailed.
Named to the committee
were Mrs. Elliott, Mrs, Alec
McGregor, Mrs. Horace Del-
bridge, RR 1, Woodham and
Miss Isabelle Gilchrist, Huron
Home Economist.
In other business, the Fed-
eration:
Voted to donate $50 to the
independent Canadian Agricul-
ture Economic Research com-
mittee.
Named. Alec McGregor and
Charles Thomas, the two vice-
presidents, as delegates to the
annual Canadian Federation
meeting in Windsor from Jan-
uary 22 to 24 and Elmer Ire-
land and Mrs. Charles Thomas
as delegates to the annual On-
tario Rural Leadership Forum.
Heard a talk and flip-chart
presentation on programing
from Bob Eaton, Western On-

the biggest jobs his firms had

Although they have built

However, the firm did com-
plete an $800,000 apartment
building, their biggest project
