Stratford Team.
A OlirriM juvenile 'hockey
team has accomplished the
same feat two years in a raw.
That is defeating a Stratford
juvenile teamn in a pre-season
exhibition game,
Last Friday night Clinton
Legion Juveniles defeated an
all-star team, from the Stoat-
ford minor hockey league, by
10-5.
Led by Barden McRae, who
scored three goal's, the Legion
team. were never ,behind or tht
scaresheet. Raymond G a r o n
scored two and Bob Livermore,
Bruce Cooper, Dan Lockwood,
Laurie Colquoun and John
Cooper one each.
Stratford scorers' were Mor-
ris Petrie, linrt, McDonald and
Musselman.
The fast skating game was
marred by fights and rough
play.
Dan Freeman, who played
defence last year, played an
exceptional game in goal for
Clinton.

Tie Squirt Match
In squirt action at Clinton
Lions Arena last .Saturday mor-
ning the Hawks met the Burins
in the first game ending in a
0-0 deadlock,
In the second game .the Leafs
battled the Hawks and lost 3-1,

Nearly 40 .Clinton 444 area
youngsters have signed up for
figure skating instruction 'given
at the local arena every Week
by Faye Love, Walton.
The pupils, wh,o range 4-1 age
from four to 17, have been ;brok-
en into groups depending cm
their abilities and receive in-
struction in dance and figure
manoeuvres as well as some free skating,
Miss Love reported she hoped
the skaters would be able to
put on same type of carnival
or show before the season was
finished and she also plans tests
for the youngsters.

Kinsmen Peewee Thunderbolts Are
Hockey, Out of Cellar;
The Canadiens, sparked by a
two-goal effort of Larry May,
nipped the Maple Leafs 4-3 in
a regular peewee contest at the
Clinton arena, Monday.
Sharing the scoring honors
with the young pucksters were
Chuck Chambers and Wes
Chambers who picked up a outings,
singleton in the wining cause.
Cam Colqtdiouru was ,a one-
man show for the losers, notch,
ing all three markers in the
hard'-Tonight battle.
Clinton's minor hopefuls have
a busy schedule this week,
starting on Friday when the all-
star peewees travel to Eketee
for their first outing of ',the
season.
On Saturday morning the
squirts take over the local rink
between 9 and 10:20 am. and
they will be followed by a pee-
wee game between the Maple
Leafs and Rangers at 10.20.
The local weewees see action
next, stepping onto the ice for Tackling last year's champs
a workout at 11.20. from Lucart-Ilderten on Sunday
Winners of the recent turkey afternoon at the RCAF arena,

and the Teachers ;and Bankers
battle it out in the second half
of the double-header.

Clinton RCAF Thunderbolts
moved out of the cellar in the
011A Big Eight this week with
a win and a tie in their two
Snapping a tour-game losing
streak, the Thunderbolts drub-
bed Forest by a 9-4 count,
Tuesday, for their first win of
the season.
George Robertson and Bud
Kelly paced the attack on their
home ice with a pair of tallies
each. Single markers came off
the sticks of Mel Melanison,
Harry Moorehouse, Les Chris-
tian, Frank Weatherby and
George Stroth.
Mary Sisler potted a pair for
the' losers, while Angus Kelly
and Bob Martin picked up
singles.
