Lowe family

Mrs. j. A. McGill'to say fare-
well to Mrs. Allen Lowe, wile
leave's this! week with her hue,
band and 'family for Fort Fran-
cis to make their home. Mr.
Lowe will teach in the colleg-
iate there
An enjoyable afternoon was
spent with contests nand social
chat. Lunen Was Served and
before leaving Mrs. Lowe was
presented with two lovely cups
and saucers. The communitY is
sorry to lose this family, who
nave ,heen workers in the Wes-
ley-Willis United Church. They
are known 'as kind' neighbors,
alvviys ready to do their pant.
The neighborhood also wel-
comes Mr. and Mrs. Webster
and family who will move into
the Lowe home.
No Bible School This
Year at Wesley-Willis
The eommittee appointed to
organize [the Daily Bible Vaca-
tion School to be, held in Wes-
ley-Willis United Church from
August 6-17, regret that due to
lack of help, it will be necessary
to cancel the school for •this
summer.

Service of Morning Prayer in
St. James Church, Middleton',
on Sunday, August 29, in the
absence of the rector on holi-
days.

was held Sunday 'afternoon 'at
the 'home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred
Middleton. There were 36 •per-
sons 'present. All 'the family
'was there with the exception of
Mr. 'and Mrs. Grindlay and fam-

devotions. Mrs, Howard Tre-
waritha read from First Cor-
iiethians, 1:17-25. Mrs. Charles
Elliott's address was on the
theme, "Praise Ye the Lord for
his Wisdom". Mrs. George Pot-
ter led. in !prayer and as hymn
was sung.
Following routine business, a
program was conducted by Unit
Four, including tap-lancing by
Nancy Pickett and two plant,
solos by Gary Black. Members
of Unit Two served lunch.

Mission. Band
A .delightiful afternoon was
spent when the Women".s. Mis-
sionary Society of St. Andrews
Presbyterian' Church .and mem-
bers of the Mission Band joined
together for their July meet-
ing. The Mission Band supplied
the program which consisted of
two songs, "All People That on
Eailtth Do Dwell" and "Jesus,
Friends of Little Children" with
Mary Jeani Nellans at the piano.
Scripture !lesson was read by
Gordon Loth. A reading "Turn
the Other Cheek" was given by
Michael Graham and a •solo,
-"What a, -friend we have in'
Jesus" was supplied by Fork
Farquhar,
Mrs. Mervyn Lobe introduced
the guest speaker, Mrs. Clayton
Edwards, Goderich, who spoke
on the children of India. Her
theme was "All belong to
Jesus, whether white, yellow or
black." She showed dolls that
had come from India and des-
cribed the difference in their
costumes according to caste.
She was thanked by Bobbie
McKenzie. Two members of the
Band received the offering and
it was dedicated by Mrs. M.
Lobh.,
Lunch was servedand a soc-
ial time was enjoyed by all.

Pastor At Exeter
Rev. Larry, Talbot has been
appointed ithe new pastor 'at
Exeter Penteedstal Tabernacle.
Mr. Talbot was born 'in Stanley
Township half way between
Bayfiekl ,and Zurich.
The new pester was first a
Salesman, and then branch
manager for the Cities Service
Oil Co. before he turned to the
ministry. He has been an as-
eistant pastor in a Hamilton
church for some time.
Mrs. Talbot is a registered
nurse. They have two sons,
David, who will enter his sec-
ond year 'at University of Wes-
tern Ontario, London, this fell,
and John, who Will be a student
at the South Huron' Distriet
High School, Exeter.

held by a. crown, (trimmed with
sequins eon see pearls comp-
leted her ensemble. She car-
ried a cascade of 'mums' and
pink delight roses,
Maid of honour, MisS Doro-,
thy Kerslake, Exeter, was gow-
ned in a street-length dress of
aqua chiffon over taffeta tea,
toting bateau neckline and wide
taffeta curnmerbund..Her flow-
ers were crescents of white
pompoms. Bridesmaids, sisters
of the bride, Mrs. Donald
O'Brien, Flint, 1Vlich., and Mrs.
Rchert MacL,aren, Halifax, N.S.
wore growns identical to the
maid of honour and carried
similar flowers. •
Flower girls, Sharon O'Brien,

dotted swiss net over taffeta,

Receives Higest Award in Guiding-
Barbara Theedom, daughter of Flight Sergeant
and Mrs. Leonard H. R. Theedom, RCAF Station
Lac St. Denis, Quebec, and granddaughter of Mr.
and Mrs. E. W. Colquhoun, Huron Street, Clinton,
received the coveted Gold Cord, at a ceremony in
Morin Heights, Quebec, in June. She was one of
two Guides from the same company, 1st Lac St.
Denis Guide Company, to receive the award from
Cartier area commissioner. Barbara began her
Guide career in Ladysmith, B.C., in 1954 and con-
tinued in guiding at RCAF Stations at Parent, Ste.
Sylvestre and Lac St. Denis, all in Quebec. She will
visit in Clinton this summer when her family will
be en route to Penhold, Alberta, where they have
been posted.
