Cameras Are .fun Savers
for Enjoyment Year Round.
Cameras are "fun savers".
By keeping a camera on
hand, you can film life's fun-
packed moments Then, months
or, years later, you can re-live
the excitement by reviewing the
pictures in your photo album.
The fun has been "saved" on
film.
That's why, these warm sun-
ny weekends, you'll want to
pack your camera when you
head for the beach. 'Everyone
has fun by the water's edge,
and a camera will record for-
ever the frolic 'and colour of
the day.
Chances are the weather will
be bright and sunny, with
plenty of light reflected from
sand and water to fill .in the
shadows. Because of this
brightness, shorter-than-normal
exposures are the rule. You
might try a medium yellow fil-
ter; with a box camera, it will
.help bring out clouds.
When taking beach snapshots,
have your subjects relaxed and
busy. Snap them peering at
minows in a pail, gingerly test-
ing the cool water, or eating
lunch. That way, -yotir family
and friends will have natural
expressions.
In general shots. where bath-
ers are pant of the scene, sun
glasses._ are in character. But
for close-ups, it's a good idea
for the wearers to remove
them.
To snap clear action photos,
such as a little girl toddling
after her beach ball, stand so
that the girl comes toward you.
Another solution is to snap
during the period of "suspend-
ed" action — for example, the
moment when the girl, bent
down, is about to grasp the
ball.
When your camera is not in
use, place it in a cool, shady
spot. In the car, avoid the glove
compartment; cover it with, a
blanket and when you lock 'the
doors, allow for ventilation: On,
the beach, be Sure . to avoid
spray, salt and long exposure
to the sun. They can damage
the camera and film.
A final tip: When your films
