The executive of the Worn-
en's Missionary Society of Hur-
on Presbyterial of the Pretsby-
ea.rian Church in Canada met
Tuesday at Clinton with rep-
resentatives present from God-
erich, Auburn, Blyth, Seaforth,
Hensel,- Belgrave and Clinton.
The president of the presby-
terial, Miss Eva Somerville,
welcomed' all the members to
this spring meeting. The pro-
gram and theme of the Synod-
ical in Hamilton was followed.
Mr's. Ross MacDonald. • of
Hemel" took charge of the 'de-
'votional period and spoke on
the Theme of the Synodical,
'I am the Way." She was one
of the delegates representing
Huron Presbyterial, Mrs. J. J3.
Rugsel, Seaforth, another de-
legate, led in prayer,
• Mrls. H. Erskine, Goderich,
secretary read the minutes' of
the 77th annual meeting which
had been held iii January. The
treasurer, leers J. A, McCon-
nell, .Goderich, reported that
there was an increase in giv-
ings and' she had' the money
sent on to the head office.
It is: hoped that the speaker
for the fall rally will be Miss

gale tea et Clinton Public Hos',
pital and nurses residence last
week, and this was received
with pleasure by the members
of the auxiliary which sponsors
the tea,
The auxiliary is supporting
actively the move to getting
funds for the new wing at the
hospital. There is no charge for

May 12 Tag Day
Tag Day 'for the Clinton Hos-
pital Auxiliary on May 12 net-
ted a total of $217.50, including
the magnificent sum of $41
collected by youngsters volun-
teering for the task in the vil-
lage of Bayfield.
Collectors in Clinton also were
youngsters Christine Jennings
was the high seller with Judy
Finley coming second. Others
at work were Patty Strong,
Sandra Schoenhals, Twyla Arn,

Lockhart, Bonnie Taylor, Marie
Cox, Linda Moody, Brenda
Kingswell, Carol Kempston,
Betty Livermore, Diana Mc-

Aelleurn on May 26 at 2:30 p.m.

Farc/her, Clinton, life mem-
bership secretary was received
with regret and Miss Raiser,
Seafouth, named to carry on.

toeian reported on 'annivers-
aries to be observed this year.

of which she is convener with

the public with the hospital
building, and with the reel-
dence where nurses and staff
live.
Mrs. W. R. Phinney, superin-
tendent of the 'hospital, and
Mrs. C, M. Shearing, president
of the auxiliary received guests
at 'the residence. Miss Kay El-
liott, astsistant superintendent
and Mrs. D. John' Cochrane re-
ceived guests at the -hotaiital.
Condircting tours of the hospi-
tal were Mrs. Donald Palmer
and Meg. J. A. Addison.
Over 160 guests signed the
guest book, which was in the
charge of Mrs. A. J. McMurray.
The 'book was donated by Mrs.
E. Beecher Menzies.

Mrs. Fred Thompson, presi-
ded at a special meeting of
Huron County Home Ladies
Auxiliary meeting in 'the craft
room of Huronview, Friday
afternoon, May 4, to meet with
Mee: Margaret Smith .supervis-
or of homes for the aged from
the provincial department of
welfare.
In her very informal address,
Mrs. Smith stated in part: "I
am much impressed with the
beauty and spaciousness *of
.Huronview, also the efficient
management and cleanliness of
the home.
"The handicraft of the resi-
dents, under the leadership of
Mrs. Harvey Johnston is very
well done, .and worthy of being
entered as exhibits at the ONE
and also at our own provincial
convention to be held this year
at Simcoe from September 11
to 15.
"There are 116 homes for 'the
aged in Ontario and 95 ladies
auxiliaries. Eighty-four deleg-
ates 'attended the provincial
convention in 1961."
Mrs. Smith advised against
affiliation with any other or-
ganizations, stating:
"The auxiliaries are growing
much larger, their aims and ob-
jectives are different from any
her customary skill.

A large ,silver rose bowl fil-
led With blue and yellow 'mums
centred the table which was

cloth. Two silver candelabra
with White candles and daffodil
serviettes were used.

The May birthday party for
the residents, of Hureneview will
be sponsored by Brussels and
Cranbrook Women's Institute.
Owing to the holiday week-
end the regular meeting of the
auxiliary will be held May 22.
Plans were finalized at this
meeting for the auxiliary to
participate in the TV program
"Take Your Choice", May 5, on
CFPL TV, London--so Satur-
day evening about 35' auxiliary
members and'. friends journeyed
to London.

the president, Mrs. Fred
Thompson, 'treasurer Mrs. W.
C. Bennett, both of Clinton;
publicity convener Mrs. Lorne
Sorimgeour, Blyth. They were
assisted by superintendent
Harvey Johnston.
The group was delighted to
be able to 'add $125 to the
auxiliary funds, with which
they will extend work of bring-
ing pleasure and comfort to
the residents of Huronview.
The participants .were com-
mended by CFPL' for attaining
the most money of any group
that had participated Ito 'date.
