parents looked depressed when they were forced to leave for
Toronto early Skinday afternoon without I'Xqnosyll.
The neighboutt. had promised to take him in and care for
him when he come back.
IsMr. Jones" returned h=e in the aftermon. He was
seen trotting down the road' from the village dump. He'd been
through wrater and mud' The con d'usion is that the three dogs

"Jonesy" had something to say to the neighbouirls and
friends, He was, delighted to see peoplLe he knew. He enjoyed
being petted, but it was a different matter when one man
tried to pick him up—the dog was dropped in, a hurry! But
he did eat bologna when,it was offlered him.
When Lucy and hew' "husband returned' to "The Hut" at
six o'clock from a drive, "Jonesy" announced his, return from
the steps of the - cottage. But he couVdhn?,t be coaxed from' the
property. And the brand of dog food' offered, him was not to
his liking. Nor would he allow his collar to be put -on when
another friend' arrived wkh at.
Mrs. Willock tele0ioned and' learned the situation from.

First "Jonesy" bid under a bed. One was at one side and
one at the other trying, to reach him. Frightened, he crawled
in behind a rocking chair in the comer of the room. M%..
Squires was attempting to buckle hiss collar on the quhvrihg

the conar to be fastened. "Jonesy,' followed right along when,
led, to the car, hopped al and sat up as the car started off.
All he'd' wanted to do was; wait there for the Willocks! But
now that he'd b6m caught, he decided that discretion were
the better part of valour and went albng, happily. Or did
the psychic powers credited to some d0gs• reassure him that
Mrs, Willock and the chHdren would' meat him in Stratford
