Norman Geddes, Toronto, visited on Sunday with Harvey McGee and Mr. and Mrs. Mait- land Allen. Mr, and Mrs, Harry Eye, Lea- side spent .the Weekend with her mother, Mrs. Herbert Go vier. Mrs. Leo Zi1er and Son John, Detroit, visited last week with her brother Kenneth Scott, Mrs. Scott, Keith, Wayne and Eric, Mr, and Mrs. Darwin Mac - lam of Fergus called on friends in the village last Sunday. Mr, and Mrs. Roland Stalker, Napanee, visited with Mr. and Mrs. Maitland Allen and Mr. Harvey McGee last weekend. They also visited with Mr, and :Mrs. William J, Craig. Master Terry Toll, Hamilton, visited last week with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. wed Toll. Mr. and Mrs. Mel Osmond and fancily, Toronto, spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. 'William T. Robison. Miss Ella Wagner moved in- to her home last weekend from Wayne, Michigan. Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Davies who had resided in this home for a number of years, moved into their newly renovated home purchased a short time ago from Mrs. Mar- garet Arthur. Miss 'Shirley Mohring, Gode- -rich, visited with her cousin, Gail Miller last week. Master Jimmy Bennett, Port Albert visited last week with Mr.: and Mrs. Wes. Bradnoek. Dr. Helen Marsh of New York City, Mrs. " Howard Wallace, Nita and John, Brampton visit- ed last week with the lady's parents, Mr. and Mrs. ' Bert Marsh and Miss Betty Marsh B.A. and Mrs. Herbert Mog- ridge, After nearly six years, Clif- ford Brown closed the Fina Station on Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Hum- phreys spent the weekend with friends in Sarnia. A good crowd attended the dance last Friday evening spon- sored by the Canadian Order of •Forrester. Mrs. Herbert Mogridge Receives First UCW Life Membership AUBURN -.- The first life membership pin of the United Cluurcih Woanen was presented to Mrs. Herbert Mogridge at their Easter tbankoffering held in Knox United Church. Mrs. Charles Straughan read an ad- dress and the president of the UCW, Mrs. Kenneth McDoug- all pinned the pin' on Mrs. Mog- ridge. Mt. Arthur Grange presided for the .program _ Mrs. Norman Wiagt itanan was organist and played • quiet music while the guests assembled and were wel- comed by Mrs. `McDougall and Mxs. John Durnin. Mrs. Grange gave the can to worship and, welcomed' the vis- ibirvg. ladies from all the ch- urches in tihe village. - A short memorial 'service was held for the late Mrs. Edith Sturdy, who had been a member of the WMS for many yeasts. Mrs. Emmerson Rodger sang the salla "Dying for .Me" and the. devotional period was tak- en by Mrs. Grange, Mrs. Jam- es Jackson and Mrs: Wilfred Plunkett.
