Unit Two Mrs. Kenneth Johnston, pre- sident conducted the meeting an ,the Church parlour on April 9. Mrs. C. M. Shearing read. the Scripture lesson, reviewed :it and ied in prayer. Mrs. L. Saddler sang two solos accom- panied by Mrs. Harold Wise. Mrs, Howard Currie reported eight home calls and two hos- pital calls during the 'month. Mrs. Don Grieve led discus- sions groups on "Words to Live By" which was interesting and valuable. Plans are being made to !hold a flower arrangement demonstration early in the :fall. The next meeting will be held at the Thome of Mrs. Ken- neth Johnston an, May 14. Lunch hosteslses will be Mrs. Glen Wise, Mrs. Kenneth John, stars; Mrs. 'Robert McDonald. Ten cents will be collected from each member for the lunch. It was d'ecid'ed to have a birthday box for the unit. Lunch was served by Mrs, D; Palmer, Mrs. H. ,Currie and Mrs. H. G. Manning. Unit Three Twenty ladies •attended the meeting in the Sunday School rooan on Thursdaay afternoon, April. 12. Mrs. Reid read the opening poem "Palm Sunday" and Mrs. Murch read from Cor- inthians 14: 1-11, followed by some thoughts on the lesson. Mrs. McCall led' in piayer. Roll call was •answered by a verse on "Love". Next month ;tile word Will be „Hope", , Mrs. Adams read the treas- urer's report, and showed art- icles bought for the bale. Dis- cussion on ways to increase the Unit's finances was held. No project was decided upon, Mrs, Cox reported on flowers, and cards sent. Easter Tea At Station Clinton RCAF STATION An Easter tea 'sponsored by the Catholic Women's League, RCAF Sta- tion Clinton was held Saturday, Aprvil. 28. Tea was convened by Mrs. Patrick Gray assisted by MTs. R. L. Paterson, Flowers and candles arrang- ed by Mrs. W. J. Michalski de- corated the tables where tea was poured by the president, Mrs. E. J. Lesnick and Mrs. Michalski. Rev. Father Sylvestre drew the winning ticket to .conclude the OWL -sponsored bunny raf- fle. First .prize, a giant plush bunny was won by Mrs. Ellen McKay, Bayfield; second and third prizes were won by John McKenzie and Mrs. J. L. Grant Mills, Ontario Street United Church (of which the deceased was a mem- ber) assisted by the Rev. C, G. Park, of Wesley -Willis United Church, also of .Clinton,' In- terment was in Clinton Ceme- tery, Pallbearers were Harry Plumsteel, Laurence Plumsteel, Charles Brandon, John Lavis, George Lavis and John Inglis, Stratford. Flower -bearers were Adam J. McMurray, Brock Olde, Earle O'Neil, and Jack Shaer. Barn in Brucefield on Feb- ruary 14, 1882, he was the son of .the late Henry Plumsteel and Margaret elute, For many years he operated a men's clothing store in the location now occupied by Amsing's. He sold to Ken Pickett and Bob Campbell in 1946, and retired from business. He was married on June 30, 1903 to Mabel Beatrice Hill, who passed away !one month ago. Mr, Plumsteel spent a few years in Moose Jaw, but other- wise spent his life in Clinton, He was a former member of both the Masonic and Fores- ter's lodges, had been an elder of the church session, and at one time served on the Public School Board. Surviving are three daugh- ters, Miss Eleanor Plumsteel, on staff at Clinton District Collegiate Institute; Jean, wife of the Rev. Harold Snell,' Lon- don; Mrs. Morris (Margaret) Kingston, Seattle, Wash.; one brother, J. Roy and one sister, Miss Emma Plumsteel, both of Clinton and three grandchil- dren. People attended the funeral from Stratford, Lucknow, Lon- don, Exeter, Seaforth and God- erich, as well as locally. Personals Mrs.. M. A.
