Mr. Huard spoke at council meeting Mon- day and told the session what the band would pur- chase with the $1,000 grant they sought. The band is getting in. shape after a winter's lay off for the coming 'parade and concert sea- son. They have been entered into many competitions this year. Conductor George Wonch said, '"we have come from a last place band in' competitions, to second place standing in Lon- don and Seaforth last year. This season we're going after firsts'." The band has formed a new color panty this year to add more pomp to parades. The town of Clinton will be asked to provide uniforms for the six new marching girls and local organizations will be approach- ed for the flags. The band, started two years ago boasts a Membership of '40 local and district musicians. Clinton Community Concert Band has bookings in advance this year as far ahead as' Sep- tember.
