Women's Institute
The annual meeting of the
Londesboro Women's Institute
will be held in the hall on April
5 at 2 pen. Mrs. Robert Fate -
service will install the aflame
and Clifford H: Epps., Clinton,
will be guest speaker. There
will be an auction: of plants.,
slips and bulbs at this meetieg.

The Explorers met on the af-
ternoon of -March, 22. Barbara
Burns, chief explorer, called the
meeting to colder. 17 menibers
answered roll call. Mrs. Jack

Motor Trip South
Mr. and Mrs.. Earl Gaunt re-
turned- home ,,an Wednesday
morning having enjoyed a three
week Motor trip through the
southern United States!, points
visited -were Santiago, Los -Ang-
eles, Mexico, Phoenix, Arizona,
the Grand Canyon in northern
Arizona which- is one mile deep,
13 miles, wide and 217 miles
long. The petrified forest was
another point of interest, also
orange, grapefruit and lemon
orehards, date and banana
geoves.
Each date tree had a ladder
as the fruit grows at the top of
the tree and dates have Ito be
picked as. they ripen. They do
not pallripen on the bunch at
the same.time. The temperature
was 60, ten degrees below the
usual. The Arizona climate was
much more ;comfortable. They
alsovisited the old home of
Wyatt Earp at Tombstone,
Anizena, and the church which
he attended. 'Mrs. Gaunt play-
ed a hymn, on the organ there.
