Attend Funeral
Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Hoy
attended the funeral of the late
Rev. Herman. F. Gruhre Pant
Albert, at Kitchener on Febru-
ary 19. Rev. Gruhn. passed
away in Kitchener on Thurs-
day. Born in that city he stud-
ied for the ministry at Martin

Luther Set-nine-re, Buffalo. Aft,
er ordination et New Halt/burg,
he served churches at Erie, Pa.,
Hamilten, an, Stretford. He
came out of retirement clueing
the Secorici, World War to serve
churches at Hespeler and Elm-
wood.

The United. Church Women
of Chiselhurst United Chereh
met Thursday afternoon with
the chair taken ley Mrs. R,. Tay-
lor in, the absence of the Presi-
dent i‘firrS. Percy Harris, Mrs.
Edwin Dick conducted the wor-
ship period. Report of the in-
augural Presbyterial held at
Clinton in January was given
by Mrs. Tom Brintnell. Mr&
R. Boyce contributed two
poems. Mrs, Harold Parker
gave the study "Signal% for the
Sixties", rnissipnary prayer,
was lee by Mrs, leen Stone-
man. A number of quilting bees
are planned for the near future.

On February 21 the CGIT
girls of Carmel Presbyterian
Church, Hensall, had! their first

Five girIS took part in an
impressive cendelight service
which naid as its theme "Light,
Love, Joy, Peace, FreedOm and
Challenge".
Mrs. Wesley Eradneck, Au-
burn, girls secretary of the
}heron Presbyterial of the 'WriVIS
was guest speaker. She gave
i an nformative talk to the
OGIT group, their mothers, the
Arnold Circle ;and W1VIS of the
Church and presented the girls
with affiliation badges and
membership'cards.
The girls were welcomed into
the WAIS by Miss Hannah Mur-
ray. Bonnie Foster, Gam Sang-
ster, Patsy Moir, were present-
ed with White lanyards by their
leader Mrs. Rose MacDonald, as
a symbol of the girls becoming
seniors, Rev. Ross Mar,Donald
closed the meeting with the
benediction. Luncheon was
served by the girls.

Stratford (native of Hensall)
recently retieed commander of
