Donald Kristoff, Kiteheeer,
was sentenced to ten weeks in
county jail last Thursday in
Goderich, When found -guilty of
uttering a false document, here
at Lorne Brown Motors Ltd,
Chief H, Thompson had .appre-
hended the Man
Eighty days in the county jail
was sentence given out by mag-
istrate Glenn Hays, QC, in court
at Goderieh last Thursday, to
Thomas A. Sharp, 18, Clinton,
on charges of theft of a car at
Wingham, and to ten days eon-
current on a charge of leaving
the scene of an accident in
Clinton. Both offences occurred
on February 12.
Robert Richard Thompson,
17-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs.
T. R. Thompson, Ontario Street.
Clinton, was given a suspended
sentence for 18 months, and
was asked to post a $200 per-
sonal bond.
Terms of the probation are
as follows:
1. That during the period of
probation he will be under the
supervision of a Probation Of-
ficer for Huron County and
Shall report to such Probation
Officer as and when directed
namely, once each week.
2, That he will make restitu-
tion and reparation, to the per-
son or persons aggrieved or in-
jured for the actual loss or
damage caused by the commis-
sion of the offence, in the sum
of $75 to be paid within six
hs from ebbs date, in per
son to Rutherford Reavie, RR
3, Wingharn, Ontario and re-
ceipts returned to the Proba-
tion Officer.
3. That he will totally abstain
from the consumption of al-
coholic beverages durin:g the
entire period of 18 months.
4. That he will not drive any
motor vehicle without the writ-
ten permission of either the
Chief of Police, Town of Clin-
ton, or the Probation Officer.
5. That he will not change
his place of residence without
the written, permission of the
Probation Officer.
6. That he will, for the next
six months, report to the Police
.Office..in the Town of Clinton.
Once a day at the discretion
of the Chief of Police for the
Town of Clinton.
7, That he will not associate
with ,any person named by the
Probation Officer as being un-
desirable and in particular, he
will not associate with Thomas
Alvin' Sharp,
8. That he will for the next
six months, be in his home not
later than 11 p.m. and -there
remain until 7 a.m. except on

Alexander Geerge Hardy, 18,
RCAF Station Clinton,. pleaded
guilty to assaulting a police of,-
fieer Seaforth on February
17, and was sentenced to 14
days in jail at Goderich. He
received seven _days consecutive
-when he pleaded guilty to cre-
ating a, disturbance in a Sea-
forth restaurant the same day.
WA and WMS Meet
At St. Andrew's
A joint meeting of the Wo-
meo's Auxiliary and Women's
Missionary Society of St. An-
drew's PreSbyterian Church.
was held in the school room of
the church on Tuesday, Febru-
ary 20. Miss Pearl McPherson
had charge of the devotional
exercises .for the WA. Scripture
lesson was by Mrs. Cudinore
and prayer by Mrs, Scott.
After the business was. con-
ducted, Mrs, Blacker took
charge of the meeting for the
WMS. Roll call was answered
with •a verse containing the
word "trust". Fifteen' calls
were 'reported made to sick and
shut-ins.
Mrs. Makin read a letter
from the Glad Tidings written
by Merle McGowan, one of the
church's newest missionaries in
British Guiana, followed by the
study book chapter on British
Guiana.
Lunch was served by Mrs. H.
Snell hostess.
Car Stolen And
Recovered On
Same Day
Donald Bell, 205 Rattenbury
Street, Clinton reported his
1960 car stolen during the night
of February 23-24. Chief H. R.
Thompson said that the report
came in 'at 7.15 am., and at
that time, owing to snow dur-
ing the night, no tracks were
visible. The keys had been left•
in the car.
The vehicle was recovered on
Highway 4, north of Lucan and
reported to the police office
here at 12.55 p.m. on Saturday.
It had a fiat tire, and there
was some damage.
