'Trophy To Bluevale t RCAF Bonspiel BAYFIELD—The local arena was the scene last Friday of an entertainment evening featur- ing figure skating and hockey. The Baytield Squirts played hest at 7 p.m. to RR 4 West Stanley (Talbot's scheol), the Squirts winning 1-0, The win- ning goal was scored by Terry Mcarinchey. There were two penalties, one to R. McClinchery Baytield for holding, the other to Jimmy Grainger of West Stanley for tripping. The lineup for West Stanley was: Eric, Doug, Ricky and Johnny Shelby, Ron. and Cam- eron Rader, David Leach, Clay- ton Steeling, Ricky Talbot, Jimmy Grainger, Barry Cleave, Don McIlwain, goal, and Bill McElwain, coach. During intermission a per- formance of figure skating was given by throe local girls, Brenda Makins, Monica and Linda Gemeinhardlt. The girls are members of the God.erieh Figure Skating Cluib and attend classes every Saturday. They displayed skills in drags, three jumps, soldier Jumps, sparrows, spins, bunny hops, shoot the chick and spread eagles. The second hockey game was between the senior public school boys of Holmesville and Bay- field, the visiting team won with a score of 3-0. Ellis, RCAF Station Clinton, skip; Cpl. Ian .Abereornbie, vice-skip; Sgt. Joe Pinola second and Cpl. Fred Sherman, lead. They were each presented with a combination wall barometer, thermometer. Second place rinks skipped by F/0 D. A. Redford, RCAF Centralia, in the first draw, scored two wins plus 12 and Dave Cornish, Seaforth, took two wins plus ten,in the second 'draw. Team members were pre, sented with travelling bags. The third prize rinks in both draws were skipped by: Ken McIntosh, RCAF Station and Jack Lloyd:, Wingham. The rink members each received a curl- ing hors d'oeuvre dish, The consolation prize was taken by the Ted Forrest rink of RCAF Station Clinton.
