The distaff side of the school spent busy hours preparing tasty lunch
for those who attended the At Home. From the left are Pamela Servos, Joan

Decorating for the annual At Home at Clinton
District Collegiate Institute is a major task, and
this year the young folk outdid themselves. On
the theme "Winter Wonderland" they created a
corner set-up with model bridge, over a simulated
frozen river, decked out with green trees sprinkled

One corner of the gym was
edged with real snowsprayed
evergreen trees. In the fore-
ground of this scene a realistic
bridge spanned a stream and
snow was banked against a
white lattice .fence. Over 750
iballoions created a multi-col-
ored false ceiling in a star sh-
ape. A duster of blue paper
globes hung at the centre of the
star,

sat atop the mantel, A pair
of antlers was hung over the
trophy ca sr‘ which held snow-
shoes, gun and stuffed fawn.
A sofa, easy chairs and skis
lent a Taxed air to the lodge.
An authentic cutter stood at
the entrance to the front doors
near the signpost, "Alpine Ski
Lodge".
The music supplied by Ron
Brown and his orchestra was
enjoyed by many couples, some
of whom enlivened the dance
With the twist.
The lunch of sandwiches and
coffee was very capably served
by girls under the supervision
of Pat Harland and Marilyn
McCullough, The lunch room
tables, covered with white
tablecloths and red snowflakes,
were lit by bowls of greenery
and floating candles. The
weatherman co-operating, over
170 couples attended the "At
Home", quite an impressive
evening.

There once was a young doe-
tor and a young lawyer court-
ing the same beautiful young
lady. It came to pass that the
young lawyer was called into
a far town to serve a client
in what proved to be a. lengthy
• case. But be was a wise young
man, and he took appropriate
steps 'to protect 'his interests.
Every day of his absence, a
fresh, crisp, shiny, red apple
was delivered to the home of
the young lady.
