A discussion of methods to
increase the attendance 'follow-

having calves shown and plan
other things to create interest.
"I don't see who's benefiting
from the present show, non -
farmers are not," said director
J. W. Counter. "I'm not a tar -
mer, and I see the same anim-
als time after time at the sur-
rounding fairs, I think that it's
expensive advertising for Clin-
ton. They come here for spring
training (for fairs) and get
good money for it."

ment of part of the Buchanan
Drain was acted ors by council,
and the township engineer was
asked to carry owt the neces-

revised report of the Bean, Mun-
icipal Drain was read ,and it

gineer to have ane property
owner removed from the wet-
enshed as none of the water
from his land enters this drain
The following wage rates
were set for the township em-
ployees for 1962: road superin-
tendent at $2,600 per annum;
grader operator .at $1.30 per
hour and roadtnen at $1 per
hour.
Several tenders are to be let
by the township and are as
follows: tor construction of the
Archibald Municipal Drain; for
trucking gravel. to 'the township
roads; for supplying warbicide
powder; and for warble fly sp-
raying.

RESTAURANT FIRE
Two .trucks from the Gader-
ich volunteer fire department
responded Wednesday noon to
a fire in the Club aria rest -
aura*, 33 Kingston Street. The
fire was said to have been
caused by over -,heated stove
pipes. Very little damage • was
caused.
FASHION SHOW
The Goderich United Church
women's club will be holding a
spring tea and fashion show at
the church on February 14.

MAN IN HOSPITAL
As a result of a single car
accident on Highway 8 at Tay-
lor's corners: Tuesday, Charles
Allen is in Goderich hospital
suffering from facial injuries
and a possible fractured jaw.
