A blood (loners clinic held

January 3, saw only 81 donors
out of a population of over
3,000 people contribute blood to.

Officials termed the clinic .dis-
appointing.
The clinic held at the On-
tario Street United' Church, was
convened by Mrs. A. J. Malur-
ray, Mrs. Alex Haddy and Mrs..
Q. M. Shearing, 'representing
'the Clinton Public Hospital
Auxiliary.
Assisting were Mrs. George
Rumball, Mrs. Robert HOMuth,
Mrs, Garnet Harland, Mrs.
Douglas Ball, Mrs, Tom Steep,
Mrs, H. C. Lawson, Mrs. A. J.
Langdon, Mrs. W. E. Monagh-
an and Mrs Jonn.
George Sanderson
George Sanderson, 66, died
at the Alexandra Marine and
General Hospital, Goderich, on
Sunday, January 7.
Born in. Clinton, he lived for
the past 45. years in Goderich,
being employed by the Cana-
dian Pacific Railway. He was
a member of Knox Presbyter-
ian Church and the Royal
Canadian Legion, Branch 109.
Surviving are his wife, the
former Adeline Nivins; one son,
CPO William Sanderson, RCN,
Halifax; two daughters, 'Mrs.
Ronald (Carol) Stevens, Hali-
fax; Mrs. William (Mary Lou)
Seeley, Buffalo, N.Y.; one sis-
ter, Mrs. J. Rands, Clinton, and
seven grandchildren.
Service from the Lodge fun-
eral home, Goderich, on Wed-
nesday 'afternoon by the Rev.
G. L. Royal. Burial in the vet-
erans' plot, Maitland Ceme-
tery, Goderich.

Missionary Society of St. An-
drew's Presbyterian Church

An installing team from
Howick Branch No. 307 Cana-
dian Legion, under the leader-
ship of Fraser Lynn, conducted
a joint installation ceremony in
Blyth. Legion home Thursday
evening, January 4, for Blyth
Legion branch No. 420, and the
Ladies' Auxiliary to the branch,
Among the guests present
was Legion zone commander,
Douglas Andrews, Clinton.
The installing team was as-
sisted by auxiliary zone com-
mander, Mrs. Mary McCann,
Fordwich.
The following Legion officers
were installed: past president,
Harold Badley; president, Don-
ald Sprung; first vice-presi-

boro, Mrs. William F. Riley
died in Victoria. Hospital, Lon-
don, Wednesday, January 3.
She was born in Lonciesbovo,
and had lived at Goderich and
lensall before Moving to Lon-
don,
Surviving are her husband,
one daughter, Shvon, at home;
and two sisters, Mrs, John
clair, Kippen, and Mrs. 'rem
Butler, RR 4, Kornoka.
Service at the Anglican Ch-
urch of the Redeemer) Lon on,
Saturday afternoon, January 6.
Burial in Forest Lawn Mem-
orial Gardens.

Mrs, James Bell McLean,
Exeter, in her 88th year, pas-
sed away suddenly of a heart
attack on December 29 in Dun-
das. She was the former Ellen
Crawford, beloved wife of the
late James Bell McLean, Exet-
er and formerly of Kippen.
She was a member of Kip-.
pen United Church, leader and
organist of the choir at inter-
vals and a life member of the
W.A.
She was 'the last member of
the family of Nancy and John
Crawford who formerly lived
on the south farm owned by
W. J. F. Bell. She moved' to
Exeter 1$ years ago.
She was the dear mother of
Mrs. Allan (Gladys) Johnson,
Klippen; William J. McLean,
Hamilton; Rose Marian Mc-
Lean, at home; Ferne McLean,
Toronto; Clarence McLean,
London; Mrs. Walter (Dorothy)
Geddes, Owen Sound. Surviving
are 11 grandchildren and tWo
great grandchildren.
Funeral service was held
Monday, January 1 from Hop-
per,Hockey funeral home, Exe-
ter, by the Rev. R. S. Hilts,
Main Street United Church.
Pallbearers were six grand-
sons: James and Donald Mc-
Lean, Barrie; Beverley McLean,
Miss B. MacDonald
Miss Barbara Ann MOODOn-
aid, 55, who died at Huron,

tery following a funeral service
at the Cottrill funeral home,
.Tiverton, On Friday afternoen
She was born in Inverhuron,
a daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Archie MacDonald, and had
lived there until she was 20,
when she moved to Clinton.
Surviving are one sister, Mrs,
Duncan (Lena) McGregor, Kin
cardine, and two brothers,
Murdoch and John, both of
Goderich.
The body rested at the Stiles
funeral home, .Goderleb, until
removal 'to Tiverton on Friday.
John P. Vodden
John P. Vodden, 73, Londes-
boro, died Thursday morning,
January 4 in Clinton. Public
Hospital where he had been a
patient for some time.
Born in Huliett Township,
a son of the late William and
Sarah Vod'den, he lived in 'that
area all his life. For 50 years
he farmed on the 1Qth conces-
sion of Hullett Township. He
was a member of the .Londes-
bora United Church,
Surviving are his wife, the
foamier Jessie Youngblut, whom
he married 'in 1931; three bro-
thers, Charles and Wesley,
both of Londesboro; Joseph,
Clinton; and two sisters, Mrs.
William Daer, Goderich, and
Mrs, Herman Crich, Clinton.
Service from the Ball and
Mutch funeral home, Clinton,
on Saturday, January 6 by the
Rev. H. Eunge, Londesboro
United Church. Burial in Clin-
ton Cemetery.
