‘The Old Home Town’
The old, old home, so deai* to my
heart,
Now lives in my memory alone.
The transit of Time saw the loved
ones depart,
And the lights in it’s portals are gone
The dreams of my youth were vis
ioned there,
In that golden temple of love,
And the radiant smile of a mother’s
care
As she counselled every move.
In memory’s world I can see her now
As she moved about with a song;
With an angel’s smile, and an angel’n
brow,
And the days were never long.
Within the sanctum of my heart
She sits on a regal throne,
And in the solitude of night.
We two are alone.
