While Dr. Steer was in the hospital making ar rangements to have him carried in he suddenly passed away. The im mediate cause of death was a blood clot around the heart. Mr. Hudson was born in Hensail 44 years aqd was the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Hudson. He spent early life here and received his ucation in the Hensail Public school. In 1916 when the 161 Battalion was being organized in Huron County he enlisted and went overseas with that battalion. He was gassed and wounded and spent seven months in a French hospital. At the close of the war he returned to Hensail and for a. number of years he conducted a garage business here. About 2% years ago a shell wound in his foot began to cause him trouble and he was taken to the soldiers’ hospital (Westminister), London, for treat ment. The foot was taken off and later a part more of the limb was amputated. Altogether he spent 22 months to Westminister, London and Christie St-reet Hospital, Toron to. He suffered greatly, but was very brave and never gave up hope. Last Easter he was sufficiently re covered to return to his home here where he has been since.
