The Young People’s League of the
Evangelical Church will visit the
County Home at Clinton .on Wed*
nesday evening June 1st. This is an
annual event and is much looked for
ward to and enjoyed by the inmates
at the Home.
While growth has been a bit bach-
ward in some localities, highly op
timistic crop reports are heard from
many of the farmers. General soak
ing rains of the past few days have
helped the crops wonderfully and in
this area the prospects are the
brightest in years. The long dry
spell proved beneficial as it permit
ted farmers ample time to complete
seeding. Pasture lands in this area
are reported in excellent condition.
Anniversary Services
Large crowds attended the anni
versary services of Zion Evangelical
Church, Sunday, May 22nd, morning
and evening. This was the 41st
anniversary of the present church
building and the 81st anniversary of
the organization of the congrega
tion. Effective decorations with
plants and flohvers made a colorful
and receptive setting for the ser
vices. The guest speaker of the day
was Rev. Dr. Hirschman of Zion
Evangelical Church, Kitchener. The
addresses both morning and evening
were of a thoughtful and deeply
spiritual nature. Mr. Hirschman
spoke briefly to the Sunday School
on the "Work of a Sunday School
Teacher.” At the morning service
the United church joined -the Evan
gelicals in worship and the spacious
church was filled. The music of
the day was of a high order and was
admirably rendered by a large choir
■of 35 members. Miss Gertrude Haist
sang "How’ Lovely are Thy Dwell

fine fellowship existed among
people throughout all services of
day and this anniversary will
long remembered.
