Lammie and sister Miss Greta Lammie. Mr. John Coulter has returned to his home after spending several weeks with his brother Rev. Mr. Coulter, of Milverton. Mr. and Mrs. P. B. Buchanan, of fit. Mrs. Carl Schaefer and little daughter, of Palmerston, visited dur-1 ing the week, at the home of Mrs. C. Ballantyne and Miss Katie Scott. Mrs. Geo. Hedden, accompanied by her sons Lee, Lloyd, Harold, Herb and Russell were visiting relatives in St. Catharines Over the week-end. Mr. and Mrs. William Horton and daughter Joan, of Detroit, are visit­ ing with Mr. Horton’s mother, Mrs. •Noah Horton and other relatives. Mr. E. Blake Winter, president of the Guaranty Trust Co., Of Toronto, accompanied by Mrs. Winter, spent a few days last week, guests of Mrs. Thos. Berry, , Mrs. Alf. Mr. and Mrs. Alf. Taylor, Mrs. John Johnstone, of Hensall; Mrs. J. Fenner, of Montreal and Miss Violet Willis, of Marlette, Mich.; were re­ cent visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. A. T. Douglas, of Hyde Park. Mrs. Hannah Taylor is leaving shortly for her former home in Fill­ more, Sask. She has a lot of prop­ erty there that needs her attention at least for a time. She has rented her home here to Mr. Fern McLean. Misses Margaret and Georgie Mur­ ray, of London, called on friends in town on Saturday. They were on their way to visit theii* nieces Mrs. George Falconer, of Brucefield and Mrs. Frank Rathburn, of Tucker­ smith. The many friends of Mrs. Lome McNaughton who has been in Vic­ toria Hospital, London, for several weeks and w.ho for several days was in a serious condition will be glad to hear that she is now: improving and hopes to soon return home. Mrs. W. A. McLaren's group of the Ladies’ Aid of Carmel Presby­ terian church held a quilting and afternoon tea in the school room of the church on Tuesday afternoon. Car Overturns 'On Sunday, when Mr. - and Mrs. George Pearce and family were on their way to Del'hi and when near Mooresville a tire on their car blew out causing the car to run into the ditch and turn over several" times. Mr. Pearce was badly hurt having several ri’bs broken and other injur­ ies. Cook and son Ann Tieman, of T'he other members family were not seriously in- The Late Mrs Pollock funeral of the late Mrs. Rich­ ard Pollock, who died on Monday, August 2nd, in a Battle Creek, Mich, hospital, took place from the C.N.R. station, Hensall on the arrival of the morning train on Wednesday, Aug­ ust 5th, interment taking place in the Hensall union cemetery. Rev. Arthur Sinclair, pastor of the United church conducted the funeral ser­ vice. Mrs. Pollock was a former well known and highly .respected Hensall lady who resided here with her hus­ band the late Richard Pollock for a number of years. After the* death of her husband about eleven years ago she sold her property and moved from Hensall. While here she was a very active Worker in the former Methodist church, taking a leading part in the ladies' organizations. A Crediton Banker Transferred Murray Morton, for the past two years teller in the local (branch of the Bank of Commerce has been trans­ ferred to Port Colborne. Mr. Morton took over his duties on Tuesday. Murray has been an esteemed resi­ dent of Crediton. He was a valued member of the Evangelical Sunday School orchestra and a member of the baseball club. During his short stay here, by his genial disposition, he made for himself many friends who, while regretting his departure will wish fo:r him every success in the future.
