Gladman, of London, who is at Grand Bend recuperating from his recent illness, is coming along nicely and was able to get down to the beach Monday for the first time. Mrs. Norman Crawford, of Bur­ lington, spent a few days last week the guest of Miss May Jones. Dr. Geo. Schoellig, of Detroit, an old friend, spent a day with Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Johnston last week. Mrs. Foster Borger, of Detroit, was a visitor with Mr. and Mrs. B. W. F. Beavers during the week. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Cook returned the latter part of last week after holidaying in Toronto and vicinity. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Broughton, of Paris, visited with Mr. and V. W. Broughton week. Mr. Harry Cole for Toronto where by his friend on a camping Northern Ontario. Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Traquair, Dorothy and Donald and Mr. and Mrs. Bert Venner spent the. holidays at Niagara Falls. Mrs. Kate Jarrott, of Kippen her daughter Etta, teacher in ronto, were visitors with Mr. Mrs. W. H. Miss Frances King has returned home from the Children’s War Memorial Hospital in London where she. recently underwent an opera­ tion. Civic Holiday passed off quietly in town. The places of business were closed and a great many of our citizens spent the day out of town. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Westlake and two sons and Mr. and Mrs. George Clipson, Monday Davis. About were at Goderich on Sunday and at­ tended an impressive drumhead service in Harbor park in connec­ tion with Old Home Week. Mr. W- R. Goulding was called to Kirkton early Monday morning owing to the illness of his father Mr. David Goulding, who suffered a paralytic stroke. Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Phillips and son and Mrs. Phillips’ parents, Mr, and Mrs. Stewart, all of Owen Sound, spent Sunday and Monday With. Mr. and Mrs. B. S. Phillips.
