They then moved to Cromarty to the farm now occupied by their son, Harry Norris and later to Staffa, where they cele­ brated the golden anniversary of their marriage in 1916. Sixteen years ago Mrs. Norris moved to Mitchell to take up residence on Blanshard street, where death took place on Wednesday. It is about thirty years ago since Dr. Buchanan and family left Zurich for Toronto. They lived on the property now owned by Dr. A. J. McKinnon, of Zurich. Mrs. Buchanan, who was a sister to Mrs. Louise ed the years sons. Klopp, of Zurich, predeceas- doctor a goodly number of ago. A. Piper, Fresno, Cal.; Mrs. J. Drake, Staffa; Mrs. W. L. Keil, Vancouver, and Miss Eliza Norris at home. There are 44 grandchildren and 42 great grandchildrep. Her husband prede­ ceased her by seventeen years and one son, John died in January 1936. The late Mrs. Norris had been most devoted to her children and it was her great delight to have them gathered about her from time to time. Every year her birthday was ob­ served by her family and on Friday which would have marked her birthday, she was laid to rest in the Staffa cemetery, t.he services were conducted by: her pastor, Rev. Geo. Kersey, who had charge of the pri­ vate service at the home at 2.30 p.m. GODERICH—The only method by which this town can get rid of its beverage rooms is by a vote of the people, E. G. Odette, chief commis­ sioner of the Liquor Control Board, told a town council deputation from Goderich at Toronto according to Mayor H. J. A, MacEwan, who head­ ed the deputation. The liquor board will not dis­ turb beer licenses at the request of the town council, Mr. Odette is re­ ported to have made it plain, be­ cause, he said, the 1938 council might see 'fit to reverse the decision. If the town anticipated any trouble old home week, he added, the liquor board would be pleased to supply exj;ra officers at no pense to the town to see that act was enforced.
