Mrs. Peter Frayne had the mis­ fortune to fracture a bone in her right hand Friday of last week the result of a fall. Mrs. Sarah Kyle, who has been ill in Dr. Fletcher’s Hospital for sever­ al weeks, is improved and has re­ turned to her home. Mrs. W. H. Parker, R.R. No. 1, Exeter, was the winner of a silver plate donated by the Canada Starch Co., in a time-saver contest. At the weekly draw for prizes con­ ducted by Mr. Len. O’Brien on Sat­ urday evening last a bag of feed was won by Mr. Chas Kerslake. Mr. and Mrs. A. Boe-Ike and son Gordon, Mrs. H. F. Wilson and son Herbert, of Welland, visited with Mr. and Mrs. Percy Mollard. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Sweet and daughter Myrtle and Mr. Frank Sweet, all of Sarnia, visited relativ­ es in Hensall and Exeter over the week-end. Dr. and Mrs. Roulston, Mrs. Wm. May and Mrs. W. J. Beer were in Toronto for a few days wehere the former attended the Ontario Dental Convention. Mrs. D. Miss M. Medd presided. The meeting opened with singing hymn number 95 followed by Mrs* M. Dayman reading the Scripture lesson, Very interesting addresses were given by Mrs. Johns, Miss I. Mooney and Mrs. Pearce on the meeting of the Presbyterial at Goderich. Hymn number 125 was then sung followed by a business meeting. There was a, musical period in which Mrs. Moffatt gave a piano selection and a trio by Miss N. Hockey, Miss Broderick and Miss Helen Dignah which were greatly enjoyed by all present, The meet­ ing closed by singing hymn number 249 and a prayer by Mrs. Lay ton. Lunch was then served* Mr. Herbert and Rena Stephenson of Varna visited with Mr. and Mrs. W. I-I. Johnston on Tuesday. James Street W. A. The regular meeting of the W. A. of James Street Church was held on /Thursday with Mrs. Kestle, the president in charge. Mrs. Dr. Flet- iciher read the scripture lesson and offered prayer. Mrs. Sharpe gave a reading; Mrs. Elliot sang a solo with Mrs. Carey as accompanist. It was planned and decided to hold a straw­ berry festival in June. /Lunch was served at the close of the meeting by a hostess and her committee. Main Street Y. P. V. The topic for the evening was prepared by Mts. Chas. Johns and given by a number of the young people, which proved to be very interesting* The meeting was Mofced by singing “trusting Je­ sus” and repeating the Mizpah bene­ diction.
