Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kennedy, of Toronto, visited around Exeter for two weeks returning Monday. Mrs. Wm. Snell, Main St., has been quite ill1 at her home with pleurisy. We are pleased to state that she is improving. At the James St. Sunday School cm Sunday afternoon Dr. Roulston gave a splendid object address to the scholars. Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Jaques and Miss Ina and Mr. and Mrs. Nat. Ogden were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Brock, of Wimchelsea. Members of the Exeter Gun 'Club ■held a rabbit drive Tuesday. Twenty- three members motored to near Kin­ cardine and succeeded in bagging 74 jacks. Mrs. Jas. Lutton and Miss Mar­ jorie, of London and Mr. Jack Wil­ son, of Bossevaine, Man., visited with their aunt, Mrs. Chas. Dayman on Monday. Miss Jessie Monteith returned to Uderton this week after visiting for two weeks with iher father Mr. Chas. M'onteith, and her aunt Miss. Helen Monteith. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Hern and Mrs. Walters, oif Goderich, and Mrs. Herb Dawson and little daughter Ann, of Toronto', visited iwith Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Johns on Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Josiah Kestle. Mr. E. Kestle, Mr. Nelson Kestle and Miss Verna Coates were in Burford on Wednesday where they, attended the funeral of the late Mrs. Albert Amy. Mr. E. C. Appleton is making* a satisfactory recovery in Victoria Hospital, London, following 'has re­ cent operation for appendicitis. He is expected home the latter part of this week. /Mr. Jack McGinn, who has been with the Bank of Montreal for the past ten months, has been transfer­ red to the branch at Orillia. Mr. Wm. Dunsford, of the Lake Road, has been added to .the staff here. 'Mrs. Hutchinson, wiho has been laid up several weeks with a frac­ tured hip at the home lof her sister, Mrs Gill was removed last week to the home of Mrs. Mawhinney. A. of the Trivitt Memor­ ial Church held a business and de­ votional meeting at toe home of Mrs. Oran Winer. The meeting open­ ed with hymn 1,00 followed by the Litany and Prayers by the President The 26ito chapter of Isaiah was read in order. It was decided to hate a Pancake Supper1 on Shrove Tuesday Aifter the business Mrs. Tanton took charge of the meeting. Readings were given by Mrs. Middleton, Miss McTaggart and Miss Luella .Stan* lake. A piaho instrumental was given by Miss Stanlake. Mirs. Tan­ ton read a portion of the Mission iStudy Book "Conisder Africa.” The meeting closed with hymn 297 and the benediction, Refreshments were served and a- seeial hour followed. PLOWING IN JANUARY With the mild and wet weather of last, week toere was practically no frost in the ground and on Saturday, January 9th, Mr. Carman Cann, of Usborne, was out plowing with a team of horses.
