August Allemang, of St. Clements, became the bride of Edward J. Res­ temeyer, of Dashwood, formerly of London, son of Airs. Restemeyer and the late Edward Restemeyer, of Dashwood. Rev. F. Malinsky, past­ er of the church officiated. The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, was beautifully gowned in white satin in princess style with which she wore a bridal veil and . halo of orange blossoms. She was attended by Mirs. Elmer Restemeyer, as matron of honor,, Aliss Gertrude Allemang as bridesmaid, little Miss Ruth Weismiller, as flower girl. Albert Aliller and Air. Elmer Reste­ meyer, of Dashwood, were the groom’s attendants and the ushers were Carl Allemang, of St. Clements and John Neeb, of Stratford. Dur­ ing the signing of the register Airs. Roy Eix, of Elmira, sang the appro­ priate solo, “O Perfect Love.” Af­ ter t-he ceremony a reception was held at the home of Mrs. George •Weismiller, Elmira, when 50 guests were entertained. Buffet refresh­ ments were served. Immediately afterwards Air. and Airs. Restemeyer left by motor to spend their honey­ moon in Western Canada. They will reside in Dashwood. Guests present from Windsor, London Dashwood. av ere and MERRY AIAKERS PICNIC The annual Highway Alerry Mak­ ers picnic was held on the spacious grounds of Mr. Chas. Isaac on July 1st. About -65 were present and en­ joyed an afternoon of games and races and a snappy game of softball. Follow-in’g the sports a bounteous picnic sup-per was served to all. Dur­ ing the course of the supper hour Air. Jas. John Cornish Exeter, who is in his 89 th year was the oldest man present. Airs. G. Kellett was the oldest lady and Airs. Ed. Trewartha Clinton came the greatest distance. Little Donald Mc­ Gill was the youngest. The after­ noon was spent in sports followed by a softball game. Supper was serv­ ed at 6 o’clock after which the elec­ tion of officers took place resulting as follows: President, Mr. Frank Statton, Grand Bend; Secretary, Airs Arthur Rundle, Exeter; Sport Com­ mittee, Air. and Mrs. T. Stephens, of St. Alarys, Air. and Airs. F. Skinner, of Exeter an>d Air. and Mrs. Charles Jaques, of Centralia. AV. T. Bredin, wore her going away costume, a smart powder blue silk suit with shell pink top, large pink baku hat and pink accessories. Her flowers were a corsage of pink roses and blue cornflowers. There were no attendants. A small reception was held at the home of the bride's mother. Robt. Rowley, 4646 Bellevue Ave., Detroit, Saturday, July 4th, when Aliss Alice Mary Rowley, sister of Mr. Riobt. Rowley, was united in marriage to Mr. Thomas Leonard Northcott, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Northcott, of Empress, Alta. The ceremony was performed at 4 p.m. in the living room by the Rev. Wil­ kie, pastor of Calvary Evangelical Church. The bride was given in marriage by .her brother Robt. and wore a crepe suit of aquamarine with white lace blouse and wore a cor­ sage of pink roses and orchid sweet peas and wore white suede shoes. Her only attendant was Airs. W. C. Redmond, of Detroit. She wore a pink and powder blue tunic dress and wore a corsage of talisman roses and white sweet peas and also wore white shoes. The groom was sup­ ported by Wesley C. Redmond. Mrs. Rowley wore a yellow and pale green printed crepe dress and a corsage of talisman roses and white seet peas. A reception for guests followed after which they sat down to a sumptuous repast. Guests included immediate relatives and a few friends. After a honeymoon of unknown destination, Mr. and Mrs. Northcott will make their home in Detroit. Mr. Northcott is a nephew of Airs. Richard Yellow of Exeter and Mr. T. Ben makes a h'obby of his flowers and is out in his garden early and late at this season. Ais a result he has a beauti­ ful place which is one of the show places of the tidy town. He has had a wionderful array of roses this year and a great assortment of gorgeous delphiniums. Airs. Beavers is also a great flower lover and generously passes on the gems of .her garden to the sick an-d to any and all who ap­ preciate the session's blossoms.—St. Alarys Journal-Argus. WAGHOHN REUNION The third annual reunion was hold at the home of Air. Alfred Waghorn, Russeldale, Wednesday, July 1st, with a good attendance. A number of business items were dealt with A very dainty lunch, was served at the close iof the meeting, was sung and the Lord’s peated in unison, Miss Mae Quance, who an operation for a-ppendicitis in the Seaforth hospital has recovered suf­ ficiently to be gt home again. Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Norris attend­ ed the Norris picnic held in Strat­ ford on Saturday being the birthday of the mother of Air. Norris who is nearing her ninetieth year. The Strawberry Festival held in the church on Monday evening last was a decided success. The young people of iStaffa presented their play “The Khan’s Talisman.” Mrs. Norris and daughter, Winni­ peg and Mr. and Mrs. Aletcalfe of Florida are spending the holidays at the home of Mrs. Hugh Currie. Mrs. George Miller (nee Elizabeth Hoggarth) iof Carson, is at present visiting friends in the neighborhood. Mr. and Mrs. Love, of Walton, Mr. Ed. and Miss Bessie Davidson, also of Walton called on relatives on .Sun­ day last. S. held a Strawberry Supper, an Wednesday evening of last week which was very largely at­ tended. Large tables were set in the shed where a bountiful supper was served by the ladies, the program fol­ lowing consisted of a play by the S’taffa Young People “The Khan’s Talisman” whch was well presented and this play is clean, humorous and of good moral tone, It held the au­ dience in rapt attention throughout. THEREFORE the Council of the said Village of Exeter enacts as fol­ lows: (1) That a Community Hall and Recreation Centre adapted, amongst other things, for the purposes‘here­ inbefore referred to, be erected and established within the Corporation of the said Village in accordance with the provisions of “The Com­ munity Halls Act” and amending acts, not to exceed in cost $10,0 09.
