The W. A. of James Street Unit­ ed Church met on Thursday, May 7 in the -church pallors. The Meeting opened by use of hymn 381, follow­ ed by Scripture lesson by Mrs. Maud Hedden. The minutes of the last meeting were read and adopted. The Treasurer then, gave her report. It was decided to canvas the con­ gregation instead of having a Straw­ berry supper. After all the busi­ ness was taken care of, Mrs. Fred May took charge of the meeting. A reading from Paulene Johnson’s Book entitled “The Nest Builders” was given by Mirs. Page, which was both humorous and inspiring. Mrs. H. C. Carey then played an instru­ mental, after which Miss Stevenson favored with a vocal solo accompan­ ied by Miss Brown. The meeting was closed with the Mispah bene­ diction aftei* which a dainty lunch was served. Miss M'c’Taggart gave the Scripture Lesson. The roll call was answered with a verse from the Bible containing the word prayer. The minutes were read and adopted. Mrs. Luxton gave a reading. Plans were made for the .Spring Deanery to be held in Exeter on June 8 th. Reports of the Annual Convention held in London were given by Mrs. O. S. Winer and Luella Stanlake.
