Ox IDEAL MEAT MARKET 'W BIG ENTRY FOR RACES The Exeter Race Committee is well pleased with their entry list for the five big stake races to be held on the King’s birthday, Tues day, June 23rd, 1936, Canada’s new Dominion holiday. The stakes are closed and well filled with 57 paid entries, well divided and evenly matched into the five races, and with favorable weather the Exeter races are assurred to be bigger and better than those of the Old Boys’ last year. Coates at tended the ^funeral of the late Mr. Joseph Whetstone at Kintore on Tuesday. Mr. Harry Snell, of Medicine Hat, Alta., visited with Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Coates and called en old friends in Exeter the latter part of last week. Harry is a son of Mr. R. J. Snell, of Calgary, and grandson of Mrs. John Snell, of town. He spent his boyhood days in Exeter. He visited with his grandmother Saturday who was in Sarnia at the time. Mr. Robt. Buchanan, of and son William, wife and visited in the home of Mr. R. Terry on Menday. On evening Mr. W. Ryckman brought Mr. Terry home from Victoria Hos pital, London, -where he has been receiving treatment for several weeks. Mr. Terry was able to walk into the house with some assistance and his neighbors were glad to see him home again. Among those who spent the week end with Mr. James Handford and daughter, Miss Annie, were: Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Griffith and son Harry, Mrs. W. V. Foster and Miss Sadie Holman, of Toronto; Mrs. Jennings, Mrs. Churchward and two sons Jack and Gerald, of London- and Miss H. Handford, of Woodstock, in whose honor her birthday was celebrated on Sunday at which a very pleasant day was enjoyed.
