Our Letter Box _________ 4 The following communication has been received from Mr. James T. Bdgshaw, of Birsuy, Sask. Mr. Bag- shaw in renewing his subscription states: '"We have been having steady winter since October 27th, and it is snowing again now, so it looks as though we will have a long winter. But it is better than no snow. The land in many districts is so dry af ter a 5-yqar siege of dry weather that as soon as the snow is gone the dust-storms begin and we would rather have snow than dust. But things on the whole are better than last year. We have a little wheat and plenty of feed for our stock, so we have many things to be thankful for even in this time of depression. I take this opportunity of extending to your paper and staff the very best compliments of the season. Yours truly, J. T. BAG/SHAW Bethlehem for they were looking for a King so the kingdom they were looking for at that time -has never been established and the unbeliev ing Jew is still looking" for that kiing. Then (the Jews) crucified theii* King in unbelief and don’t know to this day, what they have done. But in so doing they not only fulfilled scripture but the death of theii* King had made an atonement for not only the Jew, but also for all Gentiles and- so the Kingdom of the Prince of Peace has been delayed. The many signs in Europe and in many other countries today testify that the Jewish Kingdom, so long looked for by the Jews, is about to be established. Christ himself said in Matt. 10:- 34. "Think not that I am come to send peace on the earth, I came not to send peace but a sword.” He al so said in Matt. 24 that his coming to set up that kingdom' would find the world sleeping as it was in Noah’s day. And so we see the great mass of leaders, both political and religious, disregarding God’s holy word, and working, running hither and thither -on a wild goose chase to bring in a made-made peace The collapse of the peace pacts of Europe and Geneva should be suffi cient warning to any who have eyes And still me to say that there has. been no peace. The many who has accepted the new life provided in Jesus* death andi suffering on 'Calvary have a peace of heart that neither the world can give nor take away. But as far as peace and good will to men it has never and never will become fulfill ed under man’s sinful rule. Just as an example of that rule take Canada alone. Four men in Canada have been allowed to exploit this country so that they control seventy^five per cent, of the wealth of the country and 160 men control ninety per cent, of Canada’s wealth, taken from the people who have pro duced it, by false dealings, and al lowed by misguided politicians, so that all kinds of suffering and dis tress is rampart in our land. And then when Christmas comes around the whole country goes wild on explaining ‘Peace on Earth Good Will to Men” and breaks forth with Angels ISang” on When the fact is sang. wrath to come you Jesus still invites all. Won’t you come? J. T. BAGSHAW WISE CRACKS WINCHELSEA (School has opened again after the Christmas holidays. Mrs, George Delbridge spent Monday with Mrs. Harry Murch at Elimville. It seems to me that, to see and ears to hear. And u— there is much misconception -of the {the world goes on seemingly disre- above statment "Peace on Good will to Men.” We have heard it from boyhood. It has echoed down the corridors of; centuries for alinst nineteen hundred years and yet nations are growling at one an other more like wild beasts than god-will to men. One thing is sure we have never had peace on earth since the Jews of Israel crucified their King on Calvary’s Tree. Why or what is the reason that we have not that peace on earth that we hear so much about? It is be cause people to-day, like the learn ed scribes of 'Christ’s day, have mis interpreted God’s word. In Christ’s day the learned elders of Zion were looking for a king to deliver them from Gentile rule under which they had been for sixty years. And they overlooked the fact of the Babe of earth, | garding the many, many warnings Lgiven in that Holy word; that when they (the nations of the world) "shall say peace, there shall be no peace” Jer. 6:14 and again in 1 Thess. 5:3 "For when they shall say peace and safety then sudden des truction cometh upon them and they shall not escape.” Could anythingn be more plainly put than that? The League of Na tions and the Geneva motto, is: they say: "Peace and Safety” and all the same time war is liable to explode and sudden destruction come at any time. With the war inven tions that the nations have today it should be sufficient warning that when the explosion does take place the whole human family of the world will be almost wiped out. I don't wish you to understand with Mr. and Mrs. Jack Co Wes. Heywood and daughter spent a couple of days with near St. run; from rise great1 watching Wull ye marry me, Jean? “Och, awa, Jock! And mental play too, let us hope. Headache is Not a Disease But a Warning Symptom Headaches are one of the most aggravating troubles one can' be tormented with, and they are many and varying, but when your head starts to ache and pain you may feel sure there is some cause for this painful difficulty. The stomach may be out of order, the bowels constipated, the blood not circulating properly, but the presence of title headache cledrly shows there is something wrong in the system. B.B.B. has, for the past 60 years, been relieving headaches. It does this by removing the cause of- the trouble. If troubled with headaches be sure and try B.B.B. the whole country the "Songs the that great event, the angels never There is no place in Scrip ture where it is said the angels sang and so it just goes ito show how much real sincerity there is to our Christ mas celebration. In fact the Christ mas season lias become so commer cialized that the average business man is more concerned about how, much money he can make than .he is about reverance and worship of the "Babe of Bethlehem” and the world refuses to believe in the coming "Prince of Peace” and the time when there will be Good, will to men, the time that the world has been singing about for many centuries, "Jesus Shall Reign where’re the Sun Doth His successive journey His Kingdom shall stretch shore to .shore, till sun shall and set no more.” And so believers in God’s salvation, are, as stated in your an nouncement, heading for the "Cape of Good Hope” but an unbelieving world is heading for the worst time of trouble the world has ever seen. ■Daniel 112:1. Just read it please. No need to take any man’s word for it. The door of God’s mercy is going, to close some of these days, just as God closed the door of the ark in Noah’s day, and the rest of the peple of the world were destroyed in judgment. And so when the door of mercy is closed the great judg ment will come on. ‘ How will a guilty world look when it stands before an honest and1 upright judge. "When God with rebukes dost correct men for iniquity He will make His beauty to consume like a moth.” Oh, yes, it is a sad picture, if there was no escape. But thank God, the Door of God’s mercy is still open for all who are weary of sin, ‘hhd!’'iny appeal to the people of Exeter and cmnfunityi is, "Get on board before it is too late.” Jesus, the Babe ofi Bethlehem, came for purpose. He paid the price for every man, woman and child on Calvary’s cross. He shed his blood in order to cover every sin. Thank God, Jesus .has paid it all, all to Him we owe. The work of Calvary is a finished work. Salva tion is not of man’s works lest any man should boast. He (Christ) lias1 become all things, to all who will ■believe on -His Holy Name.
