Christie and little daughter Jean, of Montreal are visiting with the former’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. C; W- Christie. Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Stewart, of Monkton N. B., are visiting -with the former’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Stewart for the Christmas holidays. Special Christmas services will be observed in the various churches next Sunday. The choirs are prepar-} ing special music for the occasion, i Mrs. D. Gordon and two children, Constance and Keith, nave returned to Exeter after visiting for some time with -the former’s aunt in Blen­ heim. Carol singers have been prepar­ ing for, Christmas and will sing in front of many homes on Christmas' eve. All donations received are to I f go for relief. Christinas concerts iare being held in many of the schools this week. Special programs have been prepared and Santa -Claus is mak­ ing his annual visit. Mrs. W. Johns and daughter Mar­ garet left Sunday afternoon for Brantford owing to the illness of the former’s daughter, Mrs. William Street, who is suffering from the flu. A special train over the L. H. & B. will leave London at 5.40 p.m. Christmas eve due at Wingham at 8.20. The train will await connec­ tion off the special train leaving Toronto at 1.25 for London. The Women’s Institute are pre­ paring a treat of candy to be sent‘to the inmates of the Huron County Home at Clinton. Parcels have been left at Middleton’s BaiKery and are being packed today (Wednesday.) The W. M. S. of the Main Street. United Church met 'Wednesday of last week and packed a bale of clothing to be sent to me - Regina distributing centre. Th’e bale was, valued at $268.'0'0 and contained many useful articles. Rev. A. V. Robb, of Centralia, oc­ cupied the pulpit of the James St. United Church on Sunday morning preaching a very appealing message to the congregation. Rev. Mr. Stain-' ton took the Sunday School Anniver­ sary services at Centralia. Inspector R. J. Eacrett, of Brant­ ford, who figured in an auto acci­ dent near ’ Dublin when he took to the ditch to avoid, hitting another car had two ribs fractured and other bruises. Mr. Eacrett is a brother of Mrs. B. W. F. Beavers. Mrs. Roy Hodgins, of Stephen Tp., who recently underwent an op­ eration for appendicitis at Dr. Flet­ cher’s hospital, Was able to leave the hospital on Monday, She visited for a couple of days at the home of her brother, Mr. Chas.
