W. M. SOCIETY The W.M.S. of James S£. 'United church held their monthly'meeting in the church parlors on Thursday afternoon Septemlbei’ 8th. The presi dent opened with singing and re peating the L’ord’s Prayer in unison. The president gave a short readiiig on prayer after which th.e secretary, read the- minutes' of the last meet-1 ing. In the absence of. the treasur-| er Mrs. Stone ghve the treasurer’s! report. Then the Society decided to prepare** quilts etc. on Friday the 16th also to entertain Centralia Aux iliary next month, meeting at two o’clock for a short session previous, Mrs. Southcott then took charge of the program, in the absence of Mrs, Goulding. Miss Hunter gave a reading on the purpose of Prayer, which was interesting followed by a solo by Mrs. Coates which was ap preciated very much;, then a read ing by Mrs. Ogden on Intercessory Player also a reading on Hindrance of prayer by Mrs, J. M. Southcott, Both were ’ interesting. A piano solo followed played by Miss Oke which was very good after which anoth/er reading oh the Rewards of Prayer which was given by Mrs. G.
