Tuokey, Komoka, when their young­ est daughter> Irene Lillian, became the bride of Alfred Ivan culbert, of Windsor, son of Mr. and Mrs, Wes. Culbert, of Lucan. Rev. ®. J. White performed the ceremony. The pretty young bride, who was given in mar­ riage by her father, wag gowned In midnight blue georgette -with white veil and orange blossoms. iThe draw­ ing room was profusely decorated with spring flowers. The ^Lohen­ grin' Miss Chapman, of Komoka the ceremony a buffet luncheon served by four girl friends of bride, The same color scheme used on the tea table, which most attractive with a madeira cloth with tall silver tapers on either end and centred with the bride’s cake. The bride was the recipient of many beautiful gifts. Out-of-town guests were present from Exeter, Lucan, St. Thomas, London, Ridgetown, Strathroy and Windsor. A. was held in the church on Thursday. Mrs. Goulding, president, took charge of the meeting while Mrs. Geo. Mantle conducted the devotional period. Aftex* the var­ ious reports had -been given, a short business session was held. It was decided to hold the May Meeting on the first Wednesday of the month. Mrs. H. Carey, convenor of the pro­ gram .committee had arranged a pro­ gram which was much enjoyed by those present. It consisted of a vo­ cal solo by Miss Reta Rowe, accom­ panied by Mrs. Carey; a reading, “A Voice From a Far Country” by Mrs. Cecil Stewart assisted by Miss Rowe, and a piano duet by Mrs. Carey and Miss Irene Stewart. Cards have been received hero am* pouncing the birth of a son (Stam* ley Gilbert) to Mr. and Mrs. Hug$ Wilson, of Windsor, Early last Wednesday morning in! a London Hospital, Marjory, iourtte daughter of Mr|V. am? M)rs. Tiios. Isaac passed away after a critical operation. Five weeks ago she felt when playing at school and bruised her ankle which developed into a} serious infection of the bone. AlJ that medical skill and careful .nurs* ing would do, were done and a week ago good hopes were held for her return home, so that her death came* with all the more shock to her many friends. The funeral on Friday at hex* father's house was conducted1 by Rev. S. J, Mathers and attended' by a large number of relatives and' friends. The pall bearers were cou­ sins and the flowers (including a) wreath from lxei* school mates and* one from the United Church Sunday School) were carried by the 'St. S. teacher Mrs. Jones and seven of the girls of lier class. She is survived by her parents and four sisters, Eve­ lyn, Vera, Nola, Doris and Shirley* The deep sympathy of the conimun* ity is extended to the sorrowing family. Interment was made in the* Exeter cemetery. 5 ’ T Mrs. .._ __ has been spending ‘’the past week with the Sherritt Brothers. We are sorry to report that Miss Sadie Hodgins has been confined to her bed through illness. We hope she soon .recovers. Quite a number around here are ill with the flu. It has been decided to hold a ban-x quet and dance in the King’s Hotel on April 19 th when a programme of speeches and songs will be given by, ex-residents -of Huron County.
