Her many friends hope for a speedy recovery. Her daughter Mrs. R. Armstrong, of London, is spending this week with her. The community"cf Dashwood was saddened to- hear -of the sudden death on Thursday morning of Mrs. Christian Stade nee Katherine Kratt She enjoyed good health and even called on relatives the evening prior to her death. On rising Thursday morning she suffered a heart seizure and passed away a few minutes later. She was born on the Goshen Line in** Stephen Township in 185 4 and has been a resident of Dash­ wood for eighteen years. Her hus­ band predeceased her two years ago. Funeral s&rvices were held at the home and at Zion Lutheran Church on Sunday afternoon. Rev. W. Ness in a very capable address paid fit­ ting tribute to her sterling character and cheerful personality. A quar­ tette of Ladies’ Aid members sang at the home and the entire Ladies-’ Aid sang one of her favorite hymns at the church. The choir and a male quartette also rendered selections at th© church service. Surviving are two daughters Mrs. John Eidt, of New Hamburg and Mrs. Herman Eidt, of Ingersoll; two sons William of Dashwood and Rudolph, of Zu­ rich and six grandchildren Sister and three brothers bearers ceased Arthur Willert, and Milford Merner of th© largest funerals this commun­ ity has witnessed, the church being filled to capacity, Beautiful floral tributes testified to the high esteem in which the deceasd was held. Jamie.” Mrs. R. Kestle presided over th© February meeting of the Hurondale W.I. on Wednesday last at the home of Mr. and Mrs. F. Down with thirty five ladies present. Meeting open­ ed with singing the Ode and prayer followed by a community song. The ’ roll call was answer bi' "A Humor­ ous Happening,” The secretary read the minutes of the last gathering’ and they were approved. The cor­ respondence consisted of a letter from the Department in regard- to th© summer speaker and a letter of thanks from Mrs. E. Mitchell foi\ flowers received. The Institute presents a baby spoon to the motbei’ of a new baby and Mrs. A. Morgan! received one this afternoon. A splen­ did program followed. The first number was a pleasing piano instru­ mental by Miss K. Strang; Master, Harry Jeffrey gave a recitation in' his happy little way. Mr. G. Hicks then sang a. fine solo accompaning himself on the guitar, Mrs. B. Wil­ liams gave the paper for this meet* ing which was -one of the best and is worthy of special mention. The subject was, “Making the Best of What We Have,” and it was full of good and helpful thoughts. Mrs. M. Bechler favored with a pleasing so­ lo accompanied on the piano by Miss K. -Strang.
