Miss Jean Campbell has returned to her home in Toronto after visit ing for a couple of weeks with her grandmother, Mrs. T Murdock, Mrs. E. Her many friends hope to soon see her around again. A number of panes of glass have been broken lately in Geiger & Son’s flax mill by boys shobting and throwing stones. Constable Hudson has taken, the matter up ahd secur ed the names of three noys who are believed to be guilty of the act. Mr. E. Drummond had the mis fortune while going down some steps at his home on Wednesday of last week to fall breaking his wrist and sustaining other injuries. His many friends hope to soon see him his usual bright and cheery self again. * The many friends of Mr. Alex. Buchanan Sr., will regret to heai’ he has been confined to his bed foi’ the past two weeks and at time of writing is not improving as his friends would like to see. Mr. Bu chanan is one of Hensail’s oldest residents and is well advanced in years. The Euchre and dance put on by the Hensail firemen on Friday ev ening last was a splendid success. It took some fifty tables to accom modate the large crowd present. Euchre was played in the early part of the evening after which' there was dancing. The music which was excellent was furnished by local tal ent. Mr. Cameron did tne calling off in his usual able manner. The W.M.S.of the United Church held its monthly meeting with a large attendance present with th© president, Mrs. C. A. McDonnell, ip the chair. The meeting was open ed with a hymn,, followed by the Bible ' lesson, after which prayei; was given by Mrs. McDonald. A letter of appreciation was received from Mrs. W. Henry, thanking the’ ladies of the W.M.S. for beautiful flowers which she received during her recent illness. A devotional leaflet was read by Mrs. Anna Mc-j Donald', which was enjoyed. The Roll Call was responded to by “A Canadian Made Article.” Current events were given by Mrs, E. .Fahner, after which a paper on Canadian Industries was given by Miss L. .Smith. Mrs. E. Fahner fa vored us with a pleasing piano solo and an interesting reading on “The New Year” was given by Mrs. E. Lawson. Miss A. Smith then gave a demonstration on making dough nuts after which we were favored by a delightful guitai’ solo ,by Mr. Gerald-Smith. A dainty lunch was served by the hostesses.
