All their junior contestants attained honors. Those who won prizes in the Senior class were Beatrice Es- sery and Beulah Skinner and in the Junior class were Genevieve Kers- lake who obtained 95 per cent. Audrey Powe and Clifford Hicks, while Stanley Hicks won honors. They were congratulated and pre sented with their prizes in the Sun day morning session. All seven contestants receive a further prize from their own Sunday School. Mr. and Mrs. George Thompson and daughter Jean visited for a .few days last week with friends int Brantford and Hamilton, On Sunday evening the choir un der the leadership ' of Mr. Lloyd Hodgson, with Mrs. Penwarden as pianist rendered the Cantata, “King All Glorious.” Mr George Thompson took charge of the service. The choir was- assisted by Mr. Charles Godbolt, of Exeter. Piano duets were rendered by Mrs. Penwarden and Miss Wanda Willis. A piano trio by Mrs. M. Evoy, Miss Greta Pollard and Mrs. penwarden. Solo parts were taken by Mr. Lloyd Hodgson, Mr? Charles Godbolt and Mrs. Roy Fletcher. Duets by Mrs. Fletcher and Mrs; Hodgson; Rev and Mrs. Robb; Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Skelton; choruses in unison by the men and a chorus by the altos and a trio by Mrs. Geo. Hepburn, Mrs. Wm, Essery and Mrs; Penwarden. A sacred Christmas message was rendered in a very capable manner by Miss Dorothy Hicks, On Monday evening the Sunday School held their annual Christmas concert and tree in the auditorium of the church. The program consist ed of numerous reading and exer cises by the little folks and a sacred pageant “We Have Seen His Star” by about thirty-five Sunday school members. Following the con cert Santa Claus appeared in his us ual cheerful manner and delighted all, both old and young. The funeral took place to Lames Cemetery, Olaiideboye, Tuesday of Mrs. Abigail Ryan, Lucan, widow of the late Nathaniel Ryan. MiW—HICIGEY A very piTtty wedding was solem nised at the heme of ml and Mrs. Joseph Hickey, 20 th concession of Stephen Township on Wednesday, December 16th when their daughter Dorothy Adelaide, became the bride of John .Mills, son of Mr, and Mrs. Samuej Mills, of Granton. The cere, many was performed by Rev. F, L. Lewin, rector of Grace Church at Greenway, under an arch of Ever greens and a large white bell. The dining-room was beautifully decor ated in pink and white. The bride was arrayed in the new brick shade of georgette crepe, while her travel ling dress was of blue silk crepe with coat, hat and shoes tp match. She entered leaning on the arm of her father to the strains of the Brid al M'arch played by Miss Evelyn B. Earlton, The groom’s gift to the bride was a white gold necklace and to the pianist a beaded necklace, The happy couple left amid showers of ripe and confetti accompanied by numerous tin cans and other car decorations. The honeymoon will be spent in London, Wheatley, Essex, Windsor and Detroit, Qn their re turn they will reside at Fairview farm, lot 9, con. 20, Stephen Twp. S. II. HEWITT, OF REGINA^ MAY HEAD ST. JOHN N. B._ HOSPITAL The following clipping was taken from tire St. John’s Telegraph-Jour nal. It is understood that Dr. S. R. D. Hewitt, who has been superintendent of the Regina Hospital for the past eight years, has been offered the appointment of superintendent of . the Saint John General Hospital and is giving the matter favorable con sideration. If Dr. Hewitt accepts, lie will enter upon liis duties about January 1st. The present superintendent of the local hospital, R. H. Gale, is to be retained to head the business de partment. His • services have been referred to in most eulogistic terms by the members of the Board of Commissioners, who have agreed that Mr. Gale is too valuable to lose from the staff. iSamUel Ross DeLap Hewitt, M. D., is now -in' his thirteenth year of hospital administration. In Au rora, York County, Ont., he was born in 1884. He attended the public school and high school in Aurora and then engaged in business in Winnipeg for a time before enter ing the- Medical School of the Uni versity of Toronto. He made an exceptionally brilliant course medicine, graduating in 1914 as the I first silver medalist in his year. In his final year at Medical School, he was for some time junior interne in Toronto General Hospital. He serv ed as interne in a private hospital in Baltimore, Md., and had some months’ post-graduate study in hos pitals of Boston. Wat Experiences In the Canadian Army Medical Corps overseas he had a splendid record. He ■ joined the Canadian Expeditionary Force shortly after the outbreak of the war and went overseas with the University of Toronto Hospital unit in May, 1915. He went through much of. the severe Macedonian campaign, arriving 'in Salonika in November, 1915, and being invalided from Macedonia in sent back disability to return He Was in the fall of 1916. He was to Canada because of war but recovered sufficiently overseas in, March, 1917. stationed at the Woodcote Park Convalescent Hospital, Epsom, Eng land, until December, 1917 and re turned to Canada on transport duty. He was retained in Canada at mili tary headquarters in Toronto- until August, 1919, when he was dis charged with the rank of major. ■For some three or four years, Dr, Hewitt, was physician in charge of the cardio-vascula,r clinic in the out patient department of Western Hos pital, Toronto, which is an institu tion of more than 400 beds. He has registration entitling him to prac tise medicine in the province of On tario and Saskatchewan as well ns in Groat Britain. Dr, Hewitt was married in 1916 to Miss Edna Dow, of Exeter and his Wife is a graduate of Toronto Gen eral Hospital. They have two chil dren, a daughter, Mrss Gwynixotlt, and a son, Duncan. Dr. Hewitt has boon an active member of the Ro tary Club in Regina and is an An glican in religion.
