Miss Emma Johnson and Mrs. Varley returned home after attend­ ing- a summer school -at London for a couple of days. The Hensall Orange Lodge went to Stratford on Saturday taking part in the, big Orange Parade in'that city. They also went to Blyth on Monday. Mr. Gordon Reid, of London, Se­ cretary of. the W'estern Ontario Con­ servative Association was in town Wednesday. He accompanied the Hon. Mr. Kennedy, of Toronto? Dr. McTaggart and the Hon. Mr. Kennedy had a great handshake on Wednesday last when the Hon. Min­ ister was in .town, they being old school chums and have not met for a number of years. Our local threshers* Messrs. Sam. The Annual Conservative Meeting The annual meeting of the South Huron Conservatives was held here on Wednesday last. Owing to the .busy time with the farmers the crowd was not as large as usual but every part of thd riding was well repre­ sented. Election of officers for the ■coming year took place. Col. H. B. Combe, of Clinton, was re-elected as President of the Association arid Ro­ bert Higgins, of Hensai, re-elected *as Secretary and the old representa- atives from each municipality were Also re-elected. Obituary of Mrs. Henry Brown Mrs. Henry Brown was born at Elkton, Mich., on June 19, 1888, daughter of, the late Jacob Klemmer and his wife Amelia. In 1920 she was married to Henry Brown of Crediton and lived on the homestead just south of the village. In fail­ ing health for the past two years, she died Friday evening in the 44th year of her age. 'She leaves a hus­ band and a little son of seven years. Largely attended, funeral services were conducted by the pastor. The Dorcas S. S. Class occupied the front veranda of the house and sang ‘Safe in the arms of Jesus” this constitut­ ed the opening of the memorial. In the .church a duett was contributed by Mrs. Lloyd Gaiser and Mrs. Wm. Smith, the text for the funeral ora­ tion was “Not as I will but as thou wilt”. The choir rendered solemn anthem. Interment at the Crediton cemetery. The pall bearers were: G. Reibling, Amos Wright, Frank King, Irving Stahl, George Castle and Her­ bert Brown.
