Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Higgins, of Brussels. Messrs. John and Wm. Craig have fixed up a fine bowling green on their premises and their many friends and neighbors enjoy games in the afternoon. Mrs. Agur who in a few weeks, will reach her 100 th -birthday has ■ been quite poorly the last few weeks but her many friends wish shfe may be spared to reach her ,100th year and also further year?. Hess and in the evening a solo by Mrs. Maude Hedden. i The Strawberry, Festival held on .“the grounds of the United church on. Friday evening was well attended. A special feature of the evening was the preparing and serving by the men. 'The Boys’ Band of Forest, .furnished the music which was great­ ly appreciated by the large audience. Since the morning trains to To­ ronto have been discontinued have daily north as far as Goderich and south to London and Sarnia also to Grand Bend and Parkhill which is a great conveniences to our cjtizens, 'The Oddfellows Lodge No. 23 held ■oration services at ion cemetery and Sunday afternoon, to the monuments given by Rey. There was a heavy shower late in the afternoon Which necessitated re-setting the tables in the basement.... this pre­ sented three long tables neatly dec- 0,'rated, land very inviitjiai,g. Every­ body was comfortably seated and no criticim was offered. Mrs. God­ frey Wein, who was the energetic convenor, together with her loyal helpers had everything well in hand and -a bounteous strawberry supper was served. The program was giv­ en in the auditorium.of the church. The trustees had expressed a wish that this might be held in the base­ ment, but on account of the re-ar- rangement of the social, this was not possible, so everybody -attended the program upstairs. Very inter­ esting musical numbers were given by the efficient home talent and Mr. Abbott, of Exeter, entertained with his clear cut readings.
