Beavers cele­ brated their twenty-fifth -wedding anniversary on Saturday with an “At Home” when a great many friends called at their home to offer con- gratulations and felicitations and to wish them many more years of piness and prospei’ity. Mrs. Beavers received in the afternoon from 3 to 6 p.m, and Mr. Beavers received with her in the evening from 8 to 10 p,m. Mrs, J, H. Browning pour­ ed tea ih the afternoon while Mrs, FulleY, of Sarnia, poured tea in the evening. The others who assisted were Mrs. W. W, Taman, Miss Mary ■Grant, Mrs. Frank Taylor and Mrs. S. Ross, The home’1 was beautifully decorated with flowers many of the •bouquets being presented by their friends. The table was decorated with roses and centred with a beauti­ ful, cut-glass bowi, the gift of the Wellington St. choir, of Brantford, of which Mrs. Beavers was a member at the time of her marriage. Among the guests from out of town were: Mr. and Mrs. R. Singleton, and their daughter Lois, of Glencoe; Mr, and Mrs. Wallace, of London, accompan­ ied by Mrs. Campbell, of Ottawa; Mrs. Fraser, of London .and a friend from New Brunswick; Messrs. Geo. Beavers and Carman King, of Toron­ to; Miss Allie Eacrett, of Toronto; Mrs. Edgar Kaufman/ of Detroit; Mrs. Fuller and Mrs. Brown, of Sar­ nia; Mr. and Mrs. Ropt. Eacrett, of Hensail; Dr. and Mrs. Lannin and daughter, Aileen, of Hamilton. Dr. and Mrs. Lannin were on the same day observing their fifteenth 'wed­ ding anniversary. Mrs. Beavers’ maiden name was Roxie Eacrett. The wedding took place at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. Eac- rett, of Brantford. Following a honeymoon in 'Toronto, Barrie and Muskoka Mr. Beavers brought his bride to Farquhar where he n,t that time conducted a general store and was secretary-treasurer for the Us- borne & Hibbert Mutual Fire Insur­ ance Co. Previous to moving, to Brantford Mrs. Beavers was a form­ er Exeter girl, neing the first baby ■girl to be registered in Exetei’ after it was -incorporated as a village. Exeter Markets Wbeat^Oc. The middle school examinations wound up on Monday afternoon and Upper School students will be writ­ ing until Friday evening. Entrance examinations began Wednesday and public s'chool pupils are writing this week./ William Zinger, who at one time operated the old Metropolitan Hotel in Exeter died at Kitchener on Juno 15th in his 87th year. Death was due to pneumonia. Mr. Zinger spent 42 years ip the hotel business retiring 20 years ago. He left‘Ex­ eter for Kitchener where lie- operat­ ed the Grand Union Hotel Survived by his wife, seven sons two daughters, Mr. M. R. Complin has rented the residence of the late,Mrs. Mollatd on Andrew street and will move in this month. Mr. F. W.
