condition is slightly improved.

Mrs. Mary H. Smith, widow of G.
Edwaid Smith died at the Lome of
her daughter, Mrs. A. Cursley 584
Maitland Ave., London on Friday ot
last Week. She was in her 69 year.
She has resided .in London for 10.
years. She was born in Ryton, Eng.,
and came to Canada 19 years ago to
Elimville. She was a member 'of
Dundas Centre United -Church and
was a life member , of the W. M. S.
of Elimville church. She was also
President of that .Seciety while she
lived here. elurviving are her daugh-
ter and two sons, "William and
Frank, all Of London, and otle broth-
er, Mr. John Cornish of -our village.
She Is also survived by two sisters
and two brothers in England.
Rev. George Barnard, of Lambeth
Officiated at the funeral services at
the haute of her daughter at 7
o'elock Sunday evening. Interment
will be made in Elimville cemetery'
at a•later date,

Women's Institute Entertain
The annual supper et,the Credit-
on .branch of the Women's Institute
Was held Monday evening in the In-
stitute Hall. The Members were re_
quested to bring their husbands and
gentleMen friends. There was a large
number in attendance. Mrs, Jack
Wein was ceretenor ot the kitehen
and together with 'helpers a •splen-
did supper was served consisting Of
potato salad, meat loaf, Jello,„beead
and butter, butter scotch pie, rooks
and ,steaming 'coffee with rich cream.
Miss Mabel Palmer was ealiVenor of
the decorating cornin•ittee and the
twelVe tables presented a very neat
appearance to thecredit of that
committee, Miss Addileen Geiser
was convenor of the entertainment
together with the Other Crediton
teachers and Miss Alma, :Smith, they

Meinka was born at Potzlow, Ger-
many, May 8rd, 1859; In the eourse
of time she married Mr. August
Ewald of the sante locality, a few
years tater their infant daugh-
ter fertile, they came to Crediton,
Ontario, where they resided till their

ago and Mrs, Ewald died Wednesday
