WINS CHRISTMAS CAKE,
Mr. E. J. Wethey, principal of the
Exeter High School, was the lucky
winner of a nice.Chrdstmas cake from
Grant’s bakery the result df register
ing the closet guess on a large loaf
of bread which was oh exhibition for
some time before Christinas. There
were over 300 guesses. Mr. Wethey's
guess was 8 lbs. 10%oz. he being
just a, fraction of an ounce out/
Mrs. Dr?c. H. Burrett, Mitchell,
died recently after an illness of over
a years duration. She was a former
school teacher and niost of her life
was spent in Mitchell,

Richard Smith of, Bayfield, died
Monday afternoon of last week. The
deceased was carrier for two mail'
routes running out of Bayfield but
for the past year had not' been doing
the work owing to illness. He was-
in his 67th year. Besides his bereav
ed widow he is survived by two sons-.
