Do your Christmas shopping now. Christmas will be one week from next Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Crawford spent the week-end in Detroit. Mr. and Mrs. George Geddes are visiting in London this week. Mr. Reg. Beavers, or .Sarnia, spent the week-end at his home here. Mrs. J, B. (McKay, of Goderich is visiting her cousin Mrs. W. H. John­ ston. Mrs. Wm. Bawden, who has been I seriously ill at her home, is some­ what improved. Mr. Cecil Stewart^was in Windsor and brought home a newr Plymouth car on Tuesday. Mrs. Geo. Jaques is visiting for a few days with her sister, '.Mrs. Sam'T Stevenson at Birr. S. S. No. -5, Usborne are holding their Christmas concert on Tuesday December 18th, at 8 o'clock." Mr. Wm. Oke, of Centralia, who has been -confined to his home for several weeks is now on the mend. Mns. Well. Johns has returned to her home after visiting for several weeks with her son Frank in Tor­ onto. Mr. and Mrs. M. F. Gladiman and two children, of London, visited on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. C. V, Pic­ kard. Rev. S. IMoore Gordon, B.D., and Mr. Henry Strang attended the (Meet­ ing of Presbytery at Clinton on Tuesday. Mrs. John Snell leaves Thursday for Windsor to spend the winter with her daughters Mrs. Smith and .Mrs. ■ McDonald. Mrs. Jos. M'C'Taviish returned to her home in Shakespeare Monday af­ ter visiting with her mother, Mrs. J, W. Taylor, Mrs. H. Welsh, who has been ser­ iously ill at her home for several weeks with heart trouble, is improv­ ing and is able to sit up a little each day. An exceptionally large truck load of Christmas trees passed through town on Saturday evening for Leam­ ington. They were secured at Lion’s Head. Messrs. E. R. Hopper, Geo. Ander­ son, Geo. Chambers and Chas. Miller are in Goderich this week as jury­ men for the assizes now being held there. iMr. and Mrs. Marshall and Mi's. James Geddes, of .St. Thomas, visited with Mr. and Mrs. George Geddes and IMr. and Mrs. Albert Geddes on Sunday last. Main Street Sunday School will hold their annual Christmas Tree and Concert on Friday evening, De­ cember 21st. A good program is being prepared. ,Mr. J. A. Stewart has been con­ fined to his home .for some time with heart trouble. He is at present im­ proving and was able to be up a little on Tuesday. Ice has formed on the river above the dam and the boys and girls have brought out their skates and hockey outfits. A couple of lads have gone through the ice into shallow water. A number of the members of the Women’s Institute have been work­ ing one afternoon each week for some time sewing -and making art­ icles for underprivileged children for Christmas.
