Mr. Sydney West, of the staff of the Times-Advocate, left this week for Fergus, where he has secured a position with the Fergus News-Re­ cord. Mr. We^t will be much miss­ ed in Exeter where he has been quite popular among the young people. Mr. W. E. Middleton, who for several weeks was -a patient in Victoria Hospital, London, suffer­ ing from an old war wound in one of his legs was able to .return to his home l-ast week. He is still with­ out the use of his leg ‘but is able to be around on crutches. Work is proceeding on the n^w red brick residence and service station of Mr. E. L. Gibson, Exeter North, on the corner of Main St, and Lake Road. The roof is now on and the building presents a very fine appearance and is a valuable addition to-that part of the town. Messrs. E. Mrs. Morrison and Miss Emily, of Hensall, and 'her granddaughter Miss Violet Morrison, of Clinton, visited in the home of Mr. and M'rs. W. H. Johnston .on Thursday, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Birney and son Gordon, of Toronto, s-pent the week­ end with the former’s parents Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Birney. Mr. Birney’s' health continues to improve. .
