GOULDS—“The Little Store With the Big Business”
1 _ The weather at Grand Bend dur
ing the past week was a little cooler
than usual with the nights quite
cool. Practically all of the cottages
are filed. The hotels and rooming
houses were mosty filled up for the
week-end. The bookings for August
are better than they have been for
several years and most of the hotels
and business places- report an in
crease of business for the month of
July over the same period last year.
Quite a number of cottages have
changed occupants for the month of
A.ugust. At one of the hotels Tues
day morning your reporter was in
terested in hearing one of the de
parting guests express his delight at
his visit to Grand Bend and of his
intention to return. That remind
ed us that we had heard similiar ex
pressions on many occasions where
people were reluctant to depart from
>liis popular summer resort and not
on one single occasion have w?
heard a disgruntled ^visitor which to
our mind
thing that
fact that
think that
cupying is
tion and so it seems l’or no matter
what cotage we visited the beautiful
natural or improved surroundings
seemed very attractive. A great
many of the cottagers have also ex
pressed the pleasure they have de
rived in looking over the list of the
numerous summer visitors. It is
impossible to fine someone at home
at all of the cottages when we call.
