Another big -ball game will he played on -the Hensall diamond on Friday evening July 27tli at 6 p.m. between Ingersoll and Hensall. He leaves to mourn his loss, one son, William, of Winnipeg; one sis­ ter, Mrs. Tur-ry, of Tisdale, Sask.; and one brother, Robert, of Hensail The many -friends here of Mrs. F. B. Billett, -of London, will be glad to hear of her success as an author­ ess. Mrs. Bi-llett, who before her marriage was iMlss Mabel McLean, is the youngest daughter of the late William McLean and Elizabeth of -Seaforth -and: lived tor a number of years in Hensail and' attended school here. -One of her -mystery plays was given over the radio at Winnipeg recently and she has- been given an order for a mystery serial to be presented1, over the radio as soon as completed. ’Mrs, Billett has written three books, “Calamity Hous-e,” “The iSha-dow on the Step­pe” and the “Robot Detective.” She will shortly -publish another book, with London, Ont., as the setting, which should 'be -of great interest to residents of Western O-ntario. The Decoration Service The Oddfellows of .Hensail Lodge No^ 223, held decoration services at the Hensadl ’Momhnent, Hensall Union Cemetery and McTaggart’s 'Cemetery on Sunday, last. The Brethren met at the lodge room at 2 o’clock and marchedi to the Town Hall where a, short' service was held at the monument. Rev. W. O. Young gave a short address and Bro. George C. Petty placed ai wreath at the monument. Then the Lodge motoredi t-o Hensall union Cemetery where a very impi-essive service was held and the- graves of the -departed Brethren and Rebeccas were all decorated with flowers. Mr. G. J. Sutherland ha-d change of the opening part of the -service, after which a hymn was sung and Rev, Mr. Young and Rev. Mr. Parker gave short addresses. IBro. West­ ley Moore, of -God'erich, Past D.D.- G.M. was -then called -on and gave a very interesting address. Bro. Fishburn, the incoming D.D.G.M., of Goderich, was also present and spoke for a few minutes. The brethren, after their service at the Hensall Union cemetery, motored - to MoTaggart-’s cemetery -and held a I sim-i-liar service there and decorated graves of departed' brethren. Bro. Sunday a large crowd assembled in the auditorium of Zion Evangel­ ical Church to hear the sacred pro­ gram rendered by the men of the Glee Club Octette of North Central College, Naperville, Ill. The oc­ tette under the direction of Prof. Heimamus Baer, with Mrs. Baer as accompanist presented- a program, of sacred songs and hymns to the intens-e delight of everyone present. The Glee Club favorably impressed everyone with their excellence and (beauty, of their arrangmlent.* The Club is midway through an itiner­ ary taking them through the mid­ western States as well as Eastern States- and Ontario.
