His death"took place an illness of nearly two years. '■Semple, who was in his 83rd born in Blanshard township and as a boy moved to Uisboirne township with his parents where lie lived un­ til his marriage to Catherine Rob­ inson. Thirty-one years ago he mov­ ed to Parkhill. He was a. member of the Orange. Order, joining first at Kirkton and later j.oining the Wood­ ham lodge. He was a member of the Parkhill Masonic lodge. Southcott and two children Robt. and Florence motoredt to Mount Brydges Friday evening and attend­ ed the induction service of their brother Rev. R. E. Southcott into the Mt. Brydiges charge. Rev. J. M. Biell, of Melbourne, chairman of the Middlesex Presbytery, officiated. Rev. H. B. Parnaby, formerly oi Elimville, who is entering upon his sixth year at Wardsville, delivered the charge to the new minister and Rev. O. B. Strapp, of Muncey, de­ livered the charge to the people. At the close of the induction a bounti­ ful supper was served in the base­ ment. The various ministers of the town were present and extended a hearty welcome to Mr. and Mrs. Southcott. In spite of the hot weather a large number were pres­ ent. , Mr. and1 Mrs. Southcott are comfortably settled in their new parsonage and will have as members of their congregation Mr. and Mrs. Wm. On Frdiay evening of last week a number of young men spent a social evening together to honour Mr; C. McQuillan before returning to his home in Lucknow. During the even­ ing Mr. MIcQuillan was presented with a handsome Roles razor1 outfit. He expressed his .appreciation in a very capable manner. Mr. McQuillan has made many staunch friends among the young men of this com­ munity during his stay here who will wish him every success in the future Ice cream was served by the young men. Miss Evelyn Clarke, of Goderich, a former teacher of this, school has been engaged for the coining term. Arrangements are being made for the. Old Boy’s Reunion to be held in the village on Civic Holiday, August 6th, commencing at 12 o’clock noon. The committees are picking final plans this week and would be pleas­ ed to receive any names of persons whom they would like Jotified. The committee fn> charge are Messrs. George Hicks, W. J. Smith, George Thompson, Homer Buswell and Rev. R. N. Stewart. young people proved to be nil very amusing and was well acted. Rev. On Friday evening ia very success­ ful ice cream social was held at Grace Anglican church. A splendid play by the Brinsley young people was very much enjoyed. Mr. John M'cGregor has been very ill at the home of his daughter Mrs. Frank -Steeper. Very little hope of liis recovery has been given by the doctor and nurse inxfattendance. Miss Kleinstiver has been re-en­ gaged -to teach No. 10 School; Helen Hay ter the west school and Mr. Geo. Kirkby begins liis fifth term in the Coirbe-tt school. Miss D.
